Spying on someone else cell phone - right or wrong?

When we hear the word "spy", maybe almost of us will think: "It's wrong". But in fact, many reasons people use to explain their spying are reasonable. Some of those reasons are "they want to protect their children, while some others want to catch their cheating wife/husband? Are they really reasonable?

Do you think spying someone else is not good? Why or why not?
    Please tell me your idea.

A parent may "spy" on their children because they have no rights; especially when it comes to their parents right to oversee their actions.

However, a spouse may not spy on a spouse. Nor may a stranger spy on a stranger. Both of these actions are invasions of privacy and violate many rights including wire tap laws.

Sometime, I usually "spy" my wife, My wife works in a horrible, crime ridden, schitzo crawling city. People have gotten raped, shot at and killed in their neigborhood in homes and apartments on the very blocks She walk daily so her wife has no problem with me monitoring her. When I "spy" her, I will feel comfortable.hahahha.

I agree. I think spying phone is right or wrong depends on purpose of user. In specific situation, it's useful.

If just use spy software to track location of another, so ... is it right. Is "location" private?

I would agree, I don't see any reason that can justify.

Or the intent, especially if defined by whatever jurisdiction's law actually applies.

Some people consider killing a person wrong, even though there are justifiable circumstances like self-defense.

Good or bad is a value judgement best left to the individual.

Is it legal? Only if you own the cellphone (legal, not de facto, ownership) you're spying on. Spying on a cellphone your child (even a minor child, although I'll never understand why an 8 year old needs a cell phone) bought is illegal in most countries.

regardless of how young the child is, people were born with protections and rights.

Even logging into your spouses email account without their permission, even if you know the
password can land you in jail...people have rights, and if you invade those rights can get you in trouble.

Maybe you need to contact your atty for legal advice...

Because if you do this, no one here can save you if the S%^T hits the fan....

You would have to define the word "spy"

somethings maybe legal while others maybe not be legal.
