I have a suggestion for the moderators of this forum!

    BLOW ME!!!!!!!!!!

I'm brand new here like a shiny penny. My second thread was a request for help to point me into the right direction which was posted in this section. The thread was deleted promptly and I was issued an infraction.

With that said, my suggestion is to eliminate the power tripping and jealous Mods of this forum and replace them with new Moderators who don't run off their members.

I imagine this thread will be deleted as well en-light of the dictatorship controlling this Forum.

Thank your your insight and I hope you get +1 rep point for making your post. For the record I have two infractions now for making this thread.

Run along now, I'm sure Santas helpers can use your continued support.

Dude with that kind of attitude you got no chance in the digital world . If you can't stomach DigitalPoint then you won't be able to stomach the competition or what it takes to win .

Thank you for your post, I have a great attitude sir or at least I joined this forum having one. I'm sure this is one of the better forums if not the best one for affiliate marketing entrepreneurs. Maybe I made a mistake here but I was being totally upfront in my introduction about my background and my intentions for being here. I just didn't expect to be flagged right away before I even knew what was happening. I realize that this forum and no one who belongs to it owes me anything. I'm willing to pay for an education but right now I'm totally lost on which way to turn first.

I apologize for my bad fellowship and for being upset about getting two infractions already. I also apologize to the mods for my frustration and attitude.

    Have a great day!

Naah. Leaving outbursts in place helps others identify the unstable. If today's plan included "Prove self too juvenile to do business with"... Mission accomplished. :)

I'd be hugely surprised if anyone of the mods is power tripping. When I mention to techies in the "real world" that I participate at digitalpoint they invariably ask "what's that?". I think you'll find that beyond these "walls" what goes on here doesn't have much impact. We stick around for various reasons but power? nah, I don't think so.

As for your precious infractions. They're our way of saying "you caught our attention and we had to do something. This is to let you know". They only become important when you have 10 points and nobody else will ever know you've got them.

    Don't sweat the small stuff...

Thank you for your post, after being a member here for a few days I realize that this is a very nice community. I can only blame my own ignorance for the way I reacted and I deeply apologize to the mods and the DP members for my behavior. I could make some excuses but you know the ole sane. I'm actually afraid to post anything in any of the main topics that have anything to do with Affiliate marketing being that I know nothing and therefore I'd be like a ball spinning around a roulette table in Vegas. The positive is that I do have time on my side but I'm gonna try and make sure I don't post the wrong thing in the wrong place again; not only to prevent another infraction but also for mental stability.

I am new to DP as well and got banned from PM-ing for what I can only put together was pasting the same title and content in the message. I was simply asking for more info from the seller(s). So, I figure that this is a form of "spamming", which I always thought was sending a bunch of emails from one source at the same time...different definitions and trying to learn on a short curve here.
"E-mail spam, also known as unsolicited bulk Email (UBE), junk mail, or unsolicited commercial email (UCE), is the practice of sending unwanted e-mail messages, frequently with commercial content, in large quantities to an indiscriminate set of recipients." I'm not trying to spam, just get as mcuh info as I can in a short time frame so I can got thru websites available for quality, etc...I know now just type something different each time...lesson learned

I have spent the last hour trying to figure out when my PM ban will expire, and if ever. Found in the Rules section to look in the "User Control Panel". Had to do a search on where to find the "User Control Panel". Found a link to it in a post. I have looked and looked and found nothing in the "User Control Panel" section, which I had deduced is in the "Settings" section of my account. (Totally lost here) I also saw in the Rules section about infractions that I also would receive an email regarding an infraction...nothing in my inbox or SPAM folder. No warning.

So now I am at a total loss of trying to understand where the ban originated from, then where to find the expiration date of the ban and then fighting the anxiety of getting banned again with no warning if I am crossing a line. If anyone could at least point me to the banned/infraction expiration date I would be SO grateful...just to know that. And, how I can find the reply. Ha!

    Thanks,
    Simon

I'm not sure how automated the system is but basically Shawn takes an md5() of your private message and if enough are the same then the spam hammer falls.

Its really quite simple to ensure they are different. if you include a link to the thread you are responding to then the md5() will be different. And the recipient knows why you are getting in touch.

We get lots of spam complaints because the responses are "off topic". Include the link and atleast we'll know why the PM got sent and you are less likely to run into problems. I don't know about the other mods but I don't give spam infractions for someone who isn't an "exact match"

Thanks for the response sarahk. I will follow those practices from here on out! Where exactly can I go to see when this Ban is expired? I found a post that said to go to my User Control Panel and it should be in there. I searched and search there to no avail... ; ( Couldn't find that expire info. Any suggestions of where to search within the User Control Panel?

    Thanks,
    Simon

PM usage suspension is never permanent, and the time really just depends on the severity of the perceived spamming.
