I have a site 3 years old, pr 3 ranked top 10 for some keywords, Woke up one morning and bang most results are on page 5 page 4 and page 10

just before this initial drop i did the stupid thing of buying some edu links.

now if this was a google dance wouldn't my results be fluctuating daily and not just staying where they are?

by the way no keyword for my domain gets past page 4, this happend 3 days ago and has stayed like that
    what do you guys reckon?

this is the reason why I never prefer to buy the links...
when u buy links they post or submit your links very quickly and the search engine consider it as spam but your site going back is not due to this because if you spam google just ignore that links, some webmasters also think that google put back the site on searches,
now you should try to get some genuine quality backlinks with your unique content...

I don't think this is the Google Dance, but more like the Panda hitting your site. If it were the Google Dance, your rank would fluctuate daily and then eventually stabilize which isn't the case. I suggest you review your site as well as your backlinks. Some of the sites you're linking to probably went down in rank too and you got affected. It could also be those edu links you bought. Either they are not related to your site or they have low PR.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have further inquiries. All the best!

Try to make profile links and not links in the blog.
