What market do you target? UK or USA?

The Internet market is mainly from the UK and USA.

However, foreign people also buy products.

    My question.

How would you cater for the needs of these foreign consumers?

Do you think USA consumers are more respondent than UK consumers?

    Thanks :)

    Bull shit.

Really?! Biggest revelation since the lightbulb here.

Pages in their language would help. Forms that work for their local address formats, payment options that are supported where they are etc.

What kind of question is that?! It depends on so many things and who you ask and where that person is based and which amrket that person targets, it's a silly question IMO.

There are so many websites that target local areas, like travel websites to a village or town or city. Other websites that cover general topics, like maybe an SEO site, or a recipes site, or a greeting cards site doesnt necessarily have to target UK and US customers only!

If you want 'foreign' people to buy products, you can have a site specific to their region, selling their products, and as TOPS30 mentioned, have multi-lingual sites if you want to target a larger audience.

That statement isn't true, unless you define what you mean with 'internet market'. The US has the largest internet 'economy' based on money spent, but it's not the largest market in terms of people in it.

Depending on how you measure, Germany is bigger than the UK too. Germany and the UK combined are bigger than the US again, depending which variable you want.

    So what?!

You wouldn't be able to afford me.

Just get your statements right, a lot of people draw conclusions from stuff they find on forums like this, misinformation should be avoided IMO.

LOL - i have a degree in marketing, I have also studied Marketing in South Africa and based on my experiences abroad I have come to the conclusion that the biggest market on the Internet is the US market since people in other countries are also dealing with American products.

LOL - regarding my "information" - I have a marketing related job, have wrote major big marketing plans for big companies and I have dealt with many clients since the tender age of 16.I am passionate and ambitious :)

    Thanks

That was an amusing exchange. :)

I'm going to have to agree with T0PS3O on this one. I also have a marketing-related degree and experience with both online and offline clients, and major and minor companies... so that isn't enough to make it a cut and dry answer here, since we obviously see things differently. ;)

As was already said, it depends highly on what you consider a "market". Economically, you may be right, but as far at marketing and "target markets", I think you're a bit off on this one. The fact of the matter is that if you live in the US, chances are that you're going to think the US comprises the largest user base online. I'd be incredibly surprised if that's actually true, and highly doubt that it is. The fault with that reasoning is that while users around the world may come into contact with US-based and english-language sites online regularly, I'd wager that most US users are completely ignorant of foreign language sites in existence. Just because we're not aware of them, or their users, doesn't mean we outnumber them. ;) And while users in other countries might buy American products, we also buy products from a variety of nations, such as China and India, so I'm not really sure what your point is in that sense. Many products you'd consider American probably weren't even made here, at least in part. It's not about who makes the products; it's about who's selling them, where, and who's buying.

What do you mean by Market?., We have the Biggest multi million market and we target only India and Indians., What do you say for this?.,
As per the recent marketing report i read recently., In Adwords indians pay upto 200Rs (50$) per click max ., and indian internet audience (and their online purchases) have multiplied several times since 2000.,
