Whatever the result of the 2012 U.S. elections, what will be Obama's legacy?

There's no way to tell. If something happens in January 2013, and he screws it up royally, that'll be his legacy. If he saves the world from alien invasion on his last day in office, he could have sold the US to China for 4 years and no one would care.

Forecasting the future for more than a few seconds in advance is a fool's errand, unless the batteries in your crystal ball are fresh.

People are going to remember him as the one who got criticism for the budget etc(like the post above me) and as the one who got osama killed but if you look deeply then he was the most non violent president US has ever had.

Well the most debt occurred during his term so they will rate him as a big wasteful spender.

I'm sorry to say this but the white house infographic looks like it has been made confusing on purpose .

The infographic shows how much of the debt was caused by each administration. Obama can't be blamed for bills signed before his presidency, even if they didn't take effect until he was in office.

Obama will probably rank higher than President Warren G. Harding.

Well of course he can. He was voted in to FIX IT. And I love how your chart just ignores 3.6 TRILLION as "Economic and Technical Changes" (lower tax income due to recession). He was voted in to FIX the recession, wasn't he?

He is the president. He is running the country. (into the ground) Why do you think the Tea Party wants to reduce spending?

End of rant. Put the soapbox away.

Funny stuff. How to lie with graphs. Every other chart shows that debt as the hockey stick it is. Can you imagine what it would look like if it had been produced by the Hadley institute on global warming?

Obama's legacy? His name will be synonymous with Herbert Hoover.

Nah, the Nobel Peace Prize is just a political influence tool. It has no real meaning.

Yes unfortunately I've sen that I always had more respect for those that get a Nobel but now that is slowly fading away . They should drop the name Nobel and change it to "You had more PR in [insert domain here] prize" .

Historians will probably say something like this: Other than Franklin Roosevelt, no other President in the history of the US was left with such an unbelievable mess from the previous President and the previous President's party....and the party of the previous president then did everything they could do to sink the US. Obama has been a trooper for putting up with those traitors.

Earl, nobody blames Nixon for Carter's failed policies.
Nobody blames Lincoln for Andrew Johnson's failed policies.
Nobody blames John Quincy Adams for Andrew Jackson's genocide of native Americans.

It is a President's job to lead the nation - WITHOUT EXCUSES!
    Excuses Are For Losers

I wished for the best for Obama and my early posts verify this. But history will judge Obama as a failed presidency.

(BTW, notice how every president named Andrew has sucked?)
