They consider it remittance.. So is it possible to get tax benifit from amount originating from paypal if we show that the amount is being originally received in USD?

Another good thing I discovered today is that we can get a better exchange rate while sending payments with our credit cards.

Example: Current exchange rate is 49, paypal exchange rate for withdrawing is 47, paypal exchange rate while paying is 52. But we can get a rate of 49 if you agree to be billed in USD on your CC (your CC should be enabled for international transfers). For this while paying click on "currency conversion options" and select to be billed in USD (second option).

    Immediate saving of 5%.

This is a bad idea. Your card charges you 3.5% currency conversion charges = Rs 50.715 for Rs 49. You then need to pay 10.3% service tax on the extra 1.715 , which takes it to 1.892, Final amount = Rs 50.892 .

Today, when USD rate is 49.8 , PayPal charged me only Rs 50.75 per USD .

Also, when you pay in INR, FEMA is probably not applicable to you, whereas while paying in USD, you have to comply with FEMA regulations.

Lastly, my card gets reward points for online purchases in INR, while none for online purchases in USD :)

    PayPal FTW !
