Was there a Google SERP Update Today?

HI,


My site used to rank in the front page for more than 20 keywords until yesterday and all of a sudden those rankings seems to have gone to pages 2-4 in google.


Was there any update in google algo, did anyone else experience this around OCT 14th or is it only me ?

I second this - just today about 8 websites of mine got thrown back 3-4 pages for their keywords. WTH?

 

Yes, few of my sites moved down with 2-3 positions from top of page 1, another few with 1-2 pages up or down.
One is nowhere to be found (several pages back), and another one went almost on top, right under UEFA official site for its keywords...
Guess it's just the usual fluctuation that happens from time to time.

Just few sites got affected and ranks increased. It didn't happen to my site but i'm still waiting to see if it will.

 

There was definitely an update, I see major shifts.

Same problem for all keywords. Revenue down 50%

 

Am I the only one happy with today's shifts?

 

I lost a lot of good keywords. Hopefully it's only temporary, as the pages were hand-written, and white-hat.

 

drop from 3000uv/day to 480uv/day .... google keep demotivating me ... time to get a 9-5 job

 

I have hit from this also. used to have 1000 pageviews but today onwards 200 pageviews . I don't know what to do.

 

I can't tell. Its too early.

Traffic is completely normal for a Friday and webmaster tools won't show the 14th for a few more days.

 

Same problem here: the drop is not as drastic but still pretty major.

 

How does one come to know when there are Google SERP Updates?

 

Same here major downgrades on most of my keywords with larger more established sites receiving the higher rankings.

 

My site got ranked for some new keywords.

 

Frantically refreshing some SERP-results window I'd say.

I usually watch traffic and webmaster tools but webmaster tools runs about 4 days behind the Real World.

 

most of the results that are now in frontpage positions seem to be crap. i dont think these rankings would last long hopefully. Higher ranking/older sites seem to have retained positions. The site of mine which got effected was 5 months old.

there is no concrete way i guess. but you can track the rankings for ur keywords using keyword tracker tools like digital point keyword position tracker

 

Yeah, similar thing here - one site had its main keyword dip to position two, which seems to have had a knock-on effect on all the other keywords which seem to have slipped to page two. Hope it's temporary...

 

You are right my friend Google has update its Search Engine Ranking and two of my main keywords had gone from 1st page to 3rd page. I hope this changes is temporary and not permanent
