Contest $200 Website Design - Guaranteed + Future Work for Winner + Possible Bonus?

Hi Guys,

I would like to host a contest for a website design. I need two pages out of this. The home page and a services page. Please don't design the services page until I give the go ahead, since I might not like your front page.

The website is going to be a design and development site for websites. I will begin by offering design services and coding services (psd to html and psd to wordpress), with the possibility of adding joomla and magento in the future, but for now, just those 3 services.

I'm not a designer, so there will be future work for the winner, or the top 3 people if the designs are that good.

This is a guaranteed contest, that means a winner will be chosen, the sooner the better. I need to get this site ASAP.

There will also be a chance for a bonus. I've designed a logo, which is attached. I like it, but I feel like it's just too simple. Like, too wordpress 2.0 staple like, so if you can make it better, or maybe even make a better, more brandable logo, I'll pay you an extra $50.

Upon completion of the contest, I will most likely need at least 2-3 more designs made for inner pages, such as portfolio, and blog, etc, which I hope to have the same designer finish for an extra price that we can decide after the contest.

Navigation
Home, About, Blog, Services, Portfolio, FAQ, Contact Us, Order Now
Navigation will need to be drop down for services, but you can show this in the inner page

I really like how this site functions. I like the slider/fader, plus the 4 boxes at the bottom. Though I think the 4 boxes could get more use out of them.
Definitely like the inner pages. That side navigation is very clean looking and just fits in nicely.


I can get more samples if you guys need them, I just wanted to get this started.


Features
Just the standard features you'd expect like facebook, twitter, google + somewhere, just to increase word of mouth marketing.
Recent Posts would be nice, maybe in the footer?
Just anything you would think should be in a website that is meant to function as an online business and a portfolio all in one.

Payment Info
I'll be paying with PayPal upon receipt of the PSD files. This is a good opportunity to make at least $450-500 via a contest plus additionally receive work on a constant basis if you win, or are in the top 3 designers.

And to clarify, this contest is for $200 US dollars. That is guaranteed. At least one winner will definitely be chosen. Any other work for this website will be based upon the designers skill. Other promised work is based on the amount of work I get.

Designs posted here can not be used in your portfolio. My logo can not be used in anybodies portfolio.

The logo is attached as a png. I would prefer it not get any bigger than that, but you know, use your own discretion here.

This project is similar with one of mine, but since I do not have time to finish it, I would like to sell the design for it. The design is unique, never sold, but is not finished yet.

In this moment the design is adapted to my project, but if you like the style, and so on, I can edit and adapt it to your requests. Also I will create a logo that will fit with my design.

Thanks for the entries so far.

Here is my feedback:

@controlesc: It's too dark. I want a lighter, more professional theme. I'd like to aim for the businesses more so than random people as my target audience, so I'd like it to be more clean. I like the footer area. It's nicely put together. I think, for the contact form though, I might have the contact form in a bar that drops down at the top. I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about, but I'd like to have possibly a login form and a contact form, which will drop down in the top bar. I think that'd be nice.

@josephine: You are welcome to try other colors. I made that logo in 15 minutes, I'd even accept a design if it didn't match my logo if it's good enough. I can always have a logo made for the design. I realize it could be hard to sometimes design for a logo, especially one done by someone else.

@dlightcreative: I'm not really sure, why, I'm not too fond of it tho. I think it's because so much is going on in it. The colors are probably a bit too bland. I don't like the content that is in the footer, or the way it's made. I'm looking for recent posts, maybe a newsletter signup, and social bookmarks in the footer.

Overall guys, here are a couple of things I noticed that might help you and everyone else on future designs. I want the site to stand out more, but I don't want it to be a dark theme. I'm not really set on any color scheme per say, but I'd like it to look good put together. Let me know if I should find more samples of sites I like?

@wincaya: It's too busy. I don't like that it feels all filled up. I want a design that can be empty but look like sooo much. I'm not sure if I'm explaining that right.

@josephine: You went a little wild with the colors. I like the creativity, but I'm def looking for something more professional.

@dlightcreative: I like that it stands out more, but I feel like the footer is now cramped. try font text size of 14px. Overall that design doesn't appeal to me tho.

Looking forward to more designs. I need a winner

One thing that I think will help is if you guys use actual text that you think would fit into the text spaces, like the titles, not so much the text, because that helps me see what you guys visualize when you design the site. You know what kindof content would go there, but I might not be able to see it the way you guys are seeing it.

@peteyboy: I don't like the fonts, and the colors are a bit too dull in my opinion.

@sparkle92: I'm not in too much of a hurry, but I'm also not going to have this last for months. I was hoping to pick a winner within a week, but at this point, it's until I find something, no specified deadline.
