My first $2,000+ adsense day

First off grats grunt....you're joining an elite crew and we all know it's not easy.

wow.......I can tell you from first hand knowledge that there are thousands of people who learned to make money from the matierials that Joel has put out. With all of the work at home and mail order scams out there Joel taught people who were willing to put time and effort into a project how to make a legitimate income.

I know the exact two posts that you are talking about and they were simple mistakes working in a grey area of the AdSense TOS. In fact, representatives from Google had directly supported his claims at one time or another. They made a mistake too.

Joel is an honest hardworking guy that has been making money through various avenues of internet marketing since the inception of the internet. You can hate all you want to, it's obviously a free country, but that is all that you're doing.

If I were Joel I wouldn't come back and post here ever again. Everytime he does a couple jealous crybabies flame him to death. There are thousands of people that will go to bat for him I doubt either of you can say the same.

Well done on your money machine.

I used to earn over $4k per month with adsense. All was going great guns, I was on target to reach 10k per month within 6 months, I even got a christmas gift from Google for being a top earner, and then guess what, Google dropped my site, removed all of my pages, all my back links, my page rank, all was gone, as if it never existed.

They never gave me a reason for it, and they have never reslited my site despite my emails. That was over 2 years ago.

It nearly gave me a breakdown. Over 2 years of hard work all gone.

So my advice is this, its great while it lasts, but dont make any long term plans for the money, dont forget who is paying your wages, and how easily they can take it all away. You feel that working for yourself you are the boss and you make the decisions, but dont forget with adsense revenue, Google is always the boss.

 

Wow. What kind of sites did you have? Do you think it was the content? Do you still have the sites?

 

It was a real estate directory. I dont think it was the content that got it dropped. I think it was the fact that I was getting all the top search positions and someone had it in for me. It may have even been Google themselves, hoping that if they booted my site I would have to pay for adwords, which I never did.

I do think that if you are earning good money on adsence, you should pay for adwords just to give a little back and keep everyone sweet. I may be well off the mark but thats my theory.

The site was dying a slow death until about 2 weeks ago. I have swopped the server, and turned the site into a forum so hopefully this may promt Google to re list it at some point in the future, we will have to wait and see.

 

So they only banned one of your sites?

I think if you have more than one site it's wise to do something to separate your sites on different accounts, different corporate names, and different hosting companies, to the point where not even Google can find out all of which sites are yours. Especially if you're making that kind of money.

 

You can't give up just because your site gets the "Google ick", you just have to fight back.

2 years is enough time to rebuild an entire online empire from scratch, if you had to.

 

I have other sites now that are doing quite well. But nothing like the 4k a month site. There is a lot more competition now, so its a lot harder to make adsense money IMO.

When I lost the 4k site, I lost all interest in online businesses and went back to conventional business. So I have not spent the last 2 years twiddling my thumbs, I have just not bothered to much with online stuff. But now im getting back to it, whether thats a mistake or not only time will tell.
