Best advertising method for medium-high traffic website?

Hi there everyone, I run lparchive.org which gets medium-high traffic - going by google analytics over the last 30 days I've had about 200,000 unique visitors, 3 million pageviews. (I assume this is pretty decent but I don't have much of a scale to compare against).

Currently I'm advertising with Project Wonderful which doesn't pay per click, but the rates I'm getting are rather disappointing (maybe $3-$7 a day average of late) and I'm wondering if I can do any better. If I can't, then never mind! The biggest obstacles in my way are that I'm not really willing to have any ads more intrusive than the leaderboard banner ads that I have now (PG13 content), and that my clickthrough rate seems really poor - way less than 1%. The CTR probably won't get much better with different ads or different placement because I suspect it's more to do with the audience being fairly young college males who are used to ignoring web ads, even when they don't adblock them.

So, any ideas? Could I do any better than I am with those kind of statistics, or am I getting about as much as I can expect? If you need any information just ask :).

    Thanks!

3 million is very good traffic volume.
Of course I didn't see your detailed statistics and don't know your traffic origin but I can advise you next ad networks.
Firstly AdSense. Also try to use AdBrite, Fidelity Media and Chitika.
You should use few ad networks at the same time to increase your revenue.

    Good Luck!

Hi Ant0ni, thanks for the advice :). I can look up any other information I can get from google analytics if it would help - I didn't know what information would be relevant, just let me know what to look up :).

About 55% of visitors come from the US, then less than 10% from UK, Canada, Australia, and European countries like Germany, Finland, Sweden. 42% come from search engines, 32% from referring sites, and about 25% from direct traffic.

I'll look into those ad networks, thanks. I had looked at AdSense (since I'd heard of it, even not knowing much about ads) and it seemed like for low CTR sites it doesn't really pay too much. Is that offset by the traffic volume for me?

    Thanks!

Then try to use AdBrite and Fidelity Media.
I'm sure that you will have much more than $3 per day (if you've really 65% from US and UK)
