Why alexa ranking is increase..?

    Alexa ranking can be manipulated so easily its not seen as a true barometer of how a website is doing,i see it more as a bit of fun rather than a serious indicator,but if you work on getting more traffic to the site you will see some improvement in your ranking.

    Alexa Ranking aint that so important, its important only to show how much traffic you got if you want to boast or you are selling you website/blog.

    Why bother about alexa? My sites with higher traffic based on Google Analytics have worse ranking than sites with lower traffic, this shows how unreliable alexa is.

    If your traffic decreases then Alexa rank increases. To decrease the rank improve your traffic :)

    Alexa Ranking increases (but gets a lower number) due to the number of people who visit the site and have installed the Alexa Toolbar

    I know that low traffic may be the cause why Alexa ranking increased. But my site has 50+ visits everyday and still increasing my Alexa rank. Do you know what is the real reason?

    Your alexia ranking can go up and down every time. No one can give you the guerentee that your ranking will keep on the same level.The best way to help keep your ranking on its place or to lower it is to send more traffic to your site.Cheers,

    I’m debating including Alexa ranking in some competitor reserach for a client and after reading this post I’m not convinced that it would be unhelpful to do so.
    In this particular case, all the competitors have popular websites and have fitted the Alexa toolbar. So a few clicks by friends wouldn’t make a significant difference to ranking, right? And I don’t need to worry about any competitor sites that don’t have the toolbar fitted, as there aren’t any in this competitor set.
    Just something to consider. Your points are still valid and helpful (thank you!), but there may be cases where they’re not applicable.

    If you've never heard of it, Alexa.com is a site that ranks websites based on traffic levels. The problem is that they only count traffic from visitors that have the Alexa toolbar installed in their browser. That's a pretty serious limitation since the average web surfer has probably never even heard of Alexa rankings, much less installed the toolbar.

    So install alexa sparky in your browser and refresh your site as more as you can and this will turn your decreasing to increasing for sure:)
