Hi, I wish to promote my local storefront which badly needs it on New York's CL by having my ad show up within the top 5 listings whenever anyone should type my 2 keywords in a 24 hour period, I wish to do this 24/7 or hire someone who can do it. I understand that you can post a lot of ads daily by using automated software or hiring someone who specializes in this but what is important here for me is that my ad shows up within the top 5 listings when my keywords are searched on CL, is this possible? You and everybody else. Turns out Craigs was not created for you. Your best bet is to higher some off shore person to just post it for you are few times a day. You can find a freelancer in a lot of places online. Elance for example. What will likely happen is that people will get tired of seeing your ad over and over and they will click on flag and your IP will be blocked.
Appreciate the advice, if that's the case then I may as well do the posting myself only during peak hours which I can do but how can I best do this? I have 2 accounts associated with 2 phone numbers, I can add 3 more numbers here, my wife, mom and son to create 3 more accounts with 3 gmail addresses? Thing is I need to post between 7-9am, 11-1pm and 5-10pm daily, should I use auto posting software only for those times? If yes, how often should I post, every 15 or 30 minutes e.t.c during those times? Or can I use the 5 accounts I can create to this myself? Also, If I should hire someone to do this how often should I require them to post within the times stated? I just need to know what my best options are please since from what I am seeing now the issue here is the "frequency" of posting? Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks.
Craigslist has REALLY clamped down on ad's etc..people manage to still SPAM it though....Instead of flooding it, just make an honest Craigslist post in your city, or nearby....
I had thought that CL worked just like Google and other search engines where you pay SEO people to get your ad or site at the top of the list, I am finding out now that's not the case with CL so I don't any see any advantage to paying someone to post ads for you? Also becuase your ad will be lost after a minute or so of posting I don't see that posting your business on CL will benefit you in any way?
To be honest, most people will avoid your store because it will seem spammy. I'd aim for 1 post a day, at different times per day, and figure out when gives you the most conversions, then stick to that.

Craigalist quite hard while they do detect on your email address which one day do not post more than 3 posts. If need to submit lot of post in craigalist do need lot of email account. I would suggest you to go with more classified website rather than only craigalist is not enough.

Actually, I don't need to be at the top of the listings in a particular category, what I need is when someone types my keywords that my ad shows up on the page, is this possible?
Good Luck. There are so many rules at Craigslist now. Even if you were able to do it, there is no guarantee it would hit the top 5 listings. It might on the first day if the individual is looking for the most recent pieces, but day by day it's going to fall further down the list. The best thing to do is provide ads on a daily basis. However, be discreet about it. There are a countless number of trolls on CL just looking to red flag your ad. Cheers~
@ micheal grisso. u r right bro, ppl flag ur ads like its a joke. Anyways u need to post everyday ur ads so tht people can look at it whenever they want to hav specific service. Also my experience as an add poster most internet traffic for cl is at evening or night as people r at home and not buisy with anythng. thanks
Craigslist is extremely difficult to have your ads stick, mainly because of competitors, which nothing can be done about to prevent them flagging your ads

Posting in Cl is getting more and more difficult, you need bunch of PVAs, proxies & other resources to continue posting 24X7. You also need to vary the ad headline, text and links so that your ad is not ghosted. Then you have to keep in mind that very few ads stick and many are flagged as spam by competitiors. All this has made CL a difficult platform to promote your offers/products. My advice would be get hold of a professional poster who can deliver if you want to follow this route. Good luck,
