I cried while I was watching 'Up Close and Personal' with Michelle Pfieffer and Robert Redford. They were husband and wife tv journalists and the husband had to go this war-torn country in Africa. And the wife was in the news room with the other news crew, a breaking news was happening. The African rebels had breach the airport runway and had been killing people. The camera shot got angled towards the ground near the plane and it caught the shoes of a man lying face down on the ground. It was that of the husband's and the wife recognized it and started tearing. That's was when I cried.

My all-time greatest tearjerker was a TV-movie from 1990 or so, called "The Kid Who Loved Christmas," starring Michael Warren, Cicely Tyson, and Esther Rolle, about a young black orphan who's about to be adopted by a jazz musician (Warren) and his wife, right before Christmas, but then the wife dies, and the social worker (Rolle) doesn't feel that a musician's life is stable enough for raising a child alone, so the orphan is put back in the system...right before Christmas.

If you can get over the inherent schmaltz and get into it, you'll cry buckets.

"What dreams may come" with Robin Williams, I find his films overly sentimental and this one is no exception, it's really sad/moving, but I enjoyed it.
