What is Bad Link Neighborhood?

    Getting links from those sites which have worst links approved over there. Say you have a backlink from a site which also provides backlinks to porn sites, spam sites and sites using blackhat techniques.

    Then it can be termed as Bad Link Neighborhood

    Earlier, Webmaster was fully involved in link exchange. So, If you are involved in getting back links of your site then you must think about it whether the site is bad neighborhood or not. if it is good neighbour then only exchange links with him.

    Bad link neighborhood refers to linking to sites that offer illegal content. Illegal content are content that promote negative influences such as cigarette, drugs, alcohol, sex toys, poker, pharmacy and etc. By linking to the illegal sites, you are acknowledging that you associate with these websites. Even if your site don’t offer illegal content, the search engine will still penalize you because you are associating with bad neighborhood.

    Bad link neighbourhood means you are linking to some bad sites like some porn or some blackhat website.It impact on your website reputation and ranking.Bad link neighbourhood refer to linking to the site that offer illegal contact.

    Bad link neighbourhood is not the thing of past. It is more strictly implemented my Google now. So, Be careful while creating any link of your site. Check the site and OBL of those sites.

    Link from bad sites may be called bed neighborhood links. you must have an wide network of links. Bad links create the bad impression on Google.

    t seems that Google doesn't like the following type of web sites:

    Free for all links pages (FFA)
    Link farms (automated linking schemes with lots of unrelated links)
    Known web spammers

    Linking to that type of site can have a negative effect on your Google rankings.

    Question: Aren't free web directly sites FFA?

    If this is true, then linking to free directory sites is bad.
