    Hello DP Staff,

I am posting this on behalf of my service provider mubashirnisar
(who later became my friend also),I would like DP staff to please have a
look at his account and treat it as urgent.

2 days ago he got his account banned on duplicate acct issue,
to which he swears he does not have., He left many messages on Twitter on shawn wall,
but i believe he is very busy or may be looking into his issue, then today he searched
for his profile and came to realise that there are posts which he had never made.

Links to these topics are below

It looks like his account had been compromised for about a month and a hacker was using his password to post his services and get clients from it.
He doesnt know how it could have happened, while all his infos are still the same.

Please implore DP staff to kindly reinstate his account, this can be due to some sql injection or something, but he swears to GOD that he does not have any
duplicate accounts, He is a 6 year old member and knows very well the penalty of having duplicate accounts on DP, so there is no way that he would risk his
6 years old hard earned profile for this stupid reason.

Please anyone who is reading this, kindly try to understand his situation and trouble he has been facing due to this matter.

I know DP mods never take action without proof, but he maintains that he did nothave any duplicate accounts and neither does he know how can
someone use my account without changing a slight bit of information

    Thank you for your attention.

Tough luck , if he can't freaking keep his password safe then he probably doesn't belong here anyway .

His account must have been merged with another account that was believed to be his duplicate one.. That's why he sees posts that he never made..

Normally there is a valid reason, adequate evidences and a suspicious pattern when someone gets banned for a duplicate account, so it's next to impossible that he will get his account back..

    but good luck anyway.

may be you are right,i think same as well, but if thats the case then i believe dp will have to ban half of its users, cause in Pakistan,India and UAE they assign dynamic IPs to users,so if the mods searches for ips assigned to account then i m sure they will find thousands of match, and since he said that he is been a member of dp for about 6 years,i find it hard to believe that someone will do such mistakes to risk his hard earned profile

and you might be right about the merge and that dp takes action on pattern of actions and activities but we all are humans and peoples do make mistakes, and personally in my opinion if he is doing so much to get his acct back, then i believe that he might be right

rest is upto dp staff that what they decide to do about this, but i believe that someone from staff should respond to this

That sounds like you think he might have done it, but since he regrets it, he should get his account back.

It is not a "mistake" to have a duplicate account. It is a purposeful flouting of the rules - and deserves a ban. When so many people come to defend a banned user, it makes me think maybe he probably has more duplicate accounts.

There are many ways to find cheaters. IP is not the only way.

    @browntown,
no what i meant is that someone so old cannot do such a creepy mistake, while all of us knows the penalty proposed on a duplicate account in dp.i am 4 years senior than this guy and i knows dp rules very well, then how come someone with 101 itraders and 6 years on dp does not know it?

i just feel sorry for the guy if what all he is saying is true,i think he surely deserves to be unban (if what all has been posted by OP is true)

Of course if he didn't do anything, nobody thinks he should be banned. The point is that people come defending people with nothing other than "someone so old cannot do such a creepy mistake" which is meaningless. They ban people for a reason. The amount of time someone has been a member is really not relevant - either he has a duplicate account or not. If he does, who cares how long he has been here? If he doesn't, who cares how short of a time he was here?

Defending someone because they have X number of itraders or X number of years here, seems to be avoiding the actual issue since they have nothing to do with whether or not there was a duplicate account.

Or they are confident in their decision. I would assume that is the case.

You are dead wrong about dynamic IPs . No one ever got banned because of them .

IP is actually all but worthless these days. We have other ways to track down cheats and dupes.
