Pretty sad that people are still doing this when YPN clearly stated on their blog that this was not allowed in any way, shape, or form. These are the publishers ruining it for the ones not breaking the TOS.
you know whats really sad is that someone could easily take someone elses ypn code and blatantly violate it to get the account banned without the owner even knowing it until it was too late. something to think about before linking to your ypn sites in a public forum. i know my first thought was to check the code on that page and make sure its not mine. lol jmo
Karagold, we are very much the same. When i was logging into dp i saw the title of the thread so i rushed to check the partner id number and the link =X. Being a ypn publisher is great for my wallet but being a YPN publisher does ban a lot of people and i always am scared!!
Someone just wrote about that happend to their Adsense account karagold. It is pretty scary, I do agree.
I was forced to remove smaller icons on two occasions but still I'd say that's YPN's business and not publishers'. If you agree to report this guy the question is where will the line be drawn? Again it is YPN's responsibility to do its auditing.
I love how everyone just wants to ban all the non compliant sites and they put posts up pointing them out ...but then when they get the ban they make a post here bitching about it. How about taking the time it would take to make a new thread here... take it to notify the site owner, that way if they are trying to break the rules they will get whats coming. But if they didnt know/made a mistake they can fix it?
The publisher should read & follow the TOS. Anyway, yahoo doesn't ban for pictures; you get a suspension notice and you have to fix the problem and re-submit for review.
As much as I agree with JeffC - I still think the publisher should read the TOS and understand it before even logging into the CP. Those type of sites are ruining it for you JeffC and for everyone else who uses YPN. RPC and convertion ratios go down because of those sites. To say it nicely I am not sad to see them go. Read the TOS - if you have any questions ask.
I think some people have a hard time identifying what is right, and what is wrong according to YPN's TOS. The whole image/picture next to ad thing has been pretty much a grey topic around here, and with YPN. Putting images that "arouse" might make it more black and white, but again, as many have stated, between the OP and the publisher.
i love to read YPN's TOS ! Everytime i do something new, i always refer to the TOS ! Up to now, i read the TOS no less than 20 times. Gotta save your ass dude
I definitely agree that everyone running YPN/Adsense/Whatever other pulbishing company should read the TOS. But lets be serious, 100% of people are not going to understand 100% of the TOS. The companies will always make changes to it which may catch someone that was compliant and send him into not being so. The web is a shady place, but we are all webmasters, lets look out for each other instead of pointing fingers to burn one another at the stake. I have had a few times some sites that I thought were following all the rules until I had a friend of mine point out to me something I needed to fix, I am glad he did that instead of posting my URL on a forum saying I needed to be banned.
Our world is a shady place. You need to fight for what you want in life. If you don’t understand the TOS - email, call, or ask a question on the forums. Don't just assume its right because you’re bringing the RPC down for everyone and further persuading advertisers and networks to remove their ads and sites in your niche. Thats just the way the game works, follow the rules, or be disqualified. Hell, you can even search the forums or log onto ypn's blog. They have a blog post about images next to ads.
I just think instead of thread after thread of Ban this site, or look at what this site is doing! We can't do anything about it, email Yahoo or Google if you feel so strongly about it.
