Creating Google Toolbar buttons - any measurable traffic benefit?

A colleague of mine mentioned that the Google Toolbar for IE allows people to create and submit unique toolbar buttons. Being a Firefox guy myself, this is the first I've heard of such a thing. I'd like to hear about the marketing merits of creating Google Toolbar buttons, and whether or not offering a toolbar button on our site will, in practice, cause more people to return.

    Thanks!

I don't see where it could hurt so I don't see a downside. Even if it only brings back 1% that's still returning visitors ;)

Remember, google is not doing this to get visitors to your site, or to have them keep coming back.
They are doing this for themselves (make money on your visitors).

Easier is to get a program where you can create your own toolbars, thus leaving money grubbing google out of the equation.
