Help with my new website

I created a new website that is inspired from the Million Dollar Homepage...yeah I know there are a million copycats, I'm another one of them I guess...but I did try to make it in a unique way where people can buy a $1 placement and create any shaped ad under 200x200 pixels. It is http://www.rivalfy.com/ The whole project is to help pay my college tuition.

I was wondering if you could give me some advice as to how to find people to pay a dollar to get on this website? Should I go to small websites and try to contact their owners?

The whole problem is trying to spread the word without looking like spam or a scam.

Would it be better to contact website's individually to promote the idea or just pay for advertising?

Try up Google Adwords . It help you to bring quality traffic. You may pay for $0.50 per click and with to earn $1.00 from them if you have high conversion rate.
