The new feature that has the OP avatar instead of a generic simple image as the thread icon is driving me insane . What's more astounding is that i have a armada of clones when i look at the threads i've replied to . Shawn for the love of simplicity don't make this feature a permanent one . It's just to much
I don't know if it is just me, but i found it not pleasing on the eyes. It makes the forum complicated and I don't know what's the reason why Shawn put that one up as if everyone here can recognize a user base on their avatar. I prefer the the default one because it's more neat/clean looking.
Yeah, I'm not sure how I like it at the moment. Might disable it... but gonna let it run for awhile to see how I feel about once I get over the initial shock.
I have a question. Why is there 'light pink glowing background' on some threads? What does that indicate?
That is the same as the old red icons. It means it's a "hot" thread with more than a certain number of replies/views.
I don't know it's not something I've seen on other forums . TBQH it's the equivalent of image sigs but with extra eye burn . At least when it comes to image sigs you have the freedom not to go into a thread but this is a "in your face" change . If you want some new icons designed we would all be more then happy to pitch in just not this .... please .
Depends on the platform they use. Some forum software works that way always. XenForo for example... http://xenforo.com/community/forums/suggestions-tweaks-small-features.18/
The forum looks like more of an anime forum now because of different avatars color The professionalism design/appeal isn't there anymore.
Like I said, it may not be permanent. Just want to try it out for a couple days and see how I feel about it then.
Well, since some people thinks it's cool and others does not, is it not possible to create a feature so that each person can disable it manually if they don't like it?
Well, obviously anything could be programmed, but it's quite a bit more difficult because of how it uses the template system and CSS. You aren't toggling something on/off (much easier), but rather toggling between two options. It would be like a signature toggle to toggle between signature A and signature B rather than just on/off. Just toggling threadbits off would make the whole line disappear.
Oh boring icon, how I miss the ... Absence makes the heart grow fonder. (is this what it was? I would not be a good eyewitness to a crime. Years here and I have no idea what I have been looking at)
I think that's the problem with adding any new feature. To be honest I don't really like it right now, but I guess like all things you either grow to like it or get used to it.
