Hello and thank you for reading... I hope this is the correct section for this topic/question.I am in the USA and I need to make payment to contractor in Bangladesh. The issue is that PayPal and Moneygram do not work in Bangladesh or are not allowed. I'm trying to skip the Odesk and Freelancer fees... ect.Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Funny, who told you MoneyGram is not allowed in Bangladesh? Each and every bank here has Moneygram or Western Union.

At this time it is not possible to send money from USA to Bangladesh with MoneyGram. I called and talked with them. I think maybe Western Union is my only option. I wish paypal still worked...

I think maybe you should just contact the freelancer and ask him which online payment system works best in his area. Then you can just go the right section of this forum and convert the money into the payment system accepted in his area.

Why don't you transfer money via Wire. Its secure and reliable as long as you know whom you are sending.

Enough is going on here. I insist the OP to listen from someone who is actually a Bangladeshi and therefore understands the problem.

First of all If you want to send the money MoneyBookers was the best option. Its cheap and reliable and therefore widely used by people. But as you are in the USA, you can not use that. Another option is Alertpay. But my personal suggestion is not go with it because of their insanely high fees. And they also have have tendency of closing account with a lot of money in them without proper grounds.

So now you are left with 3 options. Bank Eire, MoneyGram and Western Union. Since you say that you can't use MG, you are left with Bank wire and western union. From these two, Western Union is certainly better. Bank is no good for you because they will be asking a lot of questions and will need paperwork. And the bank account of receiver also needs to be able to receive Direct Transfer from US. So the only option left is Western Union. We have Western Union here like in every street. The receiver won't even need to go to his bank.

    Hi ibanezgrx1

Account closures are decisions that are not taken lightly. In only dire circumstances are actions like these taken, such as violating our user agreement, illegal/unlawful conduct, and when something/someone is flagged by our security department.

AlertPay is a business, if a member was complying with our policies, in good standing, and bringing us business why would AlertPay suddenly want to discontinue doing business with them?

    Cheers

    Well, you have several options:
    1. You can use Western Unioin. Western Union is everywhere.
    2. You can mail him a check and he can deposit the check into his bank. This is a slow process.
    3. You can wire transfer the money to him. He can get it quick. But wire fee maybe too expensive if it is a small transaction. If it is a large amount, wire transfer is the best.
