No, it would be most probably because the top paying keywords are not really top paying keyword anymore. and there are several other creiteria due to which peoples don't like to build keyword specific sites.

For instance the top one 'domains yahoo' - what useful site could one possibly build around that key-word? Also - one would expect .... yahoo to rank highest for that keyword anyhow, so getting visitors would be a pain.

Alot of people DO create high paying keywords, however they are less likely to let anybody know about there site. The hardest part about these high paying keyword sites is getting hites and ranking well on google. You must try and find a market that has plenty of demand, but not too much supply. This is vital for getting traffic, don't go into a saturated market.

You can check out http://nichegeek.com which has good niches, often well paying not much competition keywords.
(I am in no way affiliated with that site)

    Hope that helped!

... those 'cheap advertisements' would actually be expensive, because they are high keywords.

But on the whole, what you are suggesting is what makes MFA (Made For Adsense) sites thrive, so if you do it smart, it may work.

All these top paying lists are such a crap and very useless.

    I think so.
I'd prefer those are not so competitive yet bring 0.3-.8 cpc earning.

Agreed. If you are able to drive traffic, they are most willing to pay you the money.

For a start, it is best to target niches that pays well, with average competition. Sharing a small chunk of big traffic is easier than competing for the only clicker.

sbongo, Actually people overuse most of the top paying keywords.

It seems every Adsense-guru-wannabe has an attorney or mesothelioma site these days. It's way overdone and theres more money in highly searched for keywords than the high paying ones.

You mean like the most searched for words? Not for Google, and you'll find the majority of the top searches are for names and brands.

    The list is completely wrong

The actual bids are much much lower than those on the list

Also traffic is most important. How easy do you think it will be to get traffic to a "washington DUI attorney" site?

Also the bids tends to fluctuate a lot.

High paying words do not generate decent CTRs. You may get 1 click per 10000 impressions, which gives you $20, but if you use, say, a $1 keyword, and get even 30 clicks in 10000 impressions, which is definitely not unachievable, you'd make more.

The EPC has nothing to do with CTR. Targeted traffic does.
