Please review my site for ad placement.

    Hello,

I started this site a little over a year ago, but just recently began to update it. Within 2 months my traffic has grown about 500%, but I am currently getting anywhere from a .2% to .5% Page CTR.

Current unique visitors is about 10,000/month and 30,000 page visits/month and growing steadily.

I would expect to get a CTR of 2-4% but cannot understand why I am not. I have ads placed in all the "HOT" spots, but still get a low CTR.

    My site is:

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello conte,

Let me tell you why you, sir, are a jackass and very unhelpful.

    1) You DID NOT answer my original question about ad placement.

    2) Is it really hard to believe that I get 300+ UV/day? (Sorry for misleading you jackass, but an estimate is what I said of 10,000 UV/month..... ESTIMATE!)

    3) Go here for a screenshot jackass justdietnow.com/images/UV.png (You can see and work out the numbers that I am averaging 307 UV/day. I'm so sorry for misleading you jackass.)

    4) Alexa rank means nothing to me at this point as I said I was JUST STARTING TO UPDATE.

    5) Here are my alexa stats for the past few weeks.

    09-10-11 - 10,945,786
    09-16-11 - 7,784,695
    09-28-11 - 6,794,224

    6) As you can see, it is gaining rank each week jackass.

    7) I have just started to submit sites to various article sites and others to gain more backlinks. (If you know anything about backlinks, it is not easy to obtain them, it takes time and patience)

    8) People that leave comments just because of jealousy and/or they can't answer the original question should not comment in the first place.

    9) YOU MY FRIEND ARE THE JACKASS!

Thank you, and I will take that into consideration. I have just placed that ad there yesterday as a "shot in the dark" of sorts. Will let you know if it generates anything at all.

Forgive me for butting into this erudite thread, but I cannot see anywhere in your original post the word "Estimate". You clearly stated that "Current unique visitors is about 10,000/month"

I would have had a look at your site, and given constructive critisism, but if you are going to call someone a C---, then quite frankly I wouldn´t piss on your back if you were on fire. It´s totally unneccesary, especially from someone with 3 posts, and very unprofessional. Do you react the same way towards your customers?

Wow, well if this forum is about bashing on the original poster, then I will gladly find another forum.

The reason I only have 3 posts is obviously because I just joined the forums. I wanted to get a little constructive criticism from other members, but the VERY FIRST reply I get is a nonsense answer that deserved a nonsense reply. I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but I think that poster deserved what I said. Although maybe not the C part, that's why I have removed it.

And to get to the main point of my months UV, it's kind of hard to give an EXACT number on your UV's as it changes from month to month. And i did say ABOUT 10,000/month. Which is pretty close to what I am getting as you can see in my screenshot. So yes, this is an estimate. I guess I'm confused with the definition of ABOUT and ESTIMATE? These are practically the same words, just synonyms. So wouldn't it be assumed that this number was in fact an estimate, approximately, about, close to, just about, some, roughly, more or less, around, or so?

And no, I am nothing like this to my customers at all. Like I said, the very first post was deliberately posted as a negative comment towards me and my site and he didn't even have ANY helpful information pertaining to my original question. How would you have reacted to someone that posted that when you first joined a forum to get helpful information from people? Certainly didn't expect an answer like that.

Again, I do apologize for any words that may have offended anyone.

I am just looking for help.

    Ok.
Your ad placements seem fairly good, but there are a lot of blank spaces where the background colour shows through such as on the page weight-watchers-points/points-for-vegetables, and for example on this page Body Mass Index Calculator the ads don´t come anywhere near filling the space allocated to them.
On your home page the ads. sitting out to the right of the page seem a little "lost", although they do stand out quite clearly.
On the whole, and this is just a personal opinion, your pages seem to be focused around your ads, rather than the ads being part of the whole page.

Thanks for your reply. If I understand you correctly, you are saying to "blend" the ads more into the content of the pages rather than have them separated? I do see what you mean about the spaces and the background showing through. Not sure I quite understand you about the Body Mass Index Calculator though. Are you saying a different ad size might be better than the one currently there? Maybe a 468x60 banner would be better there?

All requests for ad integration, placement reviews, and conversion rate reviews must be placed in the Website Review forum.

Yes, a different size ad may be better.
And, yes, blending them in is exactly what I mean.

Then why does it say "Need help with AdSense placement or want people to look at placement or examples on a site? This is the place." at the top of the Adsense forum?

Yes, I'm confused as well. But if it is in the wrong category, then a mod can move it.

That's pretty impressive for a technology blog to have that high of a CTR. Would you mind PM'ing me your website so I can have a look?

    Thanks.
