If my site was exploited / Hacked for personal gain, and to steal information, user account details, files, database, and for malicious reasons or personal

What legal ground do I have to go after the person that did this?

I know exactly who did it. From where, and on a known company pc system that has caught them doing it and actually contacted me in regards to it.

I would file a police report then hire a lawyer..Your host needs to provide information too.. FBI might be involved on this as well

It is next to impossible to get the authorities to pursue individuals who have committed cyber crimes. Even when you wrap all the evidence up with a bow and go to a D.A., they usually don't want to get involved unless the sums are huge, the crime is ongoing and effecting multiple citizens in their jurisdiction, or you are a big corporation.

You can, however, use the many net related laws to sue for money damages.

Para5, subsection 12a of The InterWebs and White Fish Preservation Charter 1975.

Get the CyberJock UberPolitzie to investigate using Holographic Norn-units.

Your best bet is to use the The Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 to frame your complaint.

If you are clueless about what laws might apply and be responsive to the question you can just not participate, but you don't need to be an ignorant ass.

i have already had the host pull any and all associated data regarding the violating connecting IP addresses connecting to the person(s) involved showing all that they did within the server box. Which will be subpenaed as well i'm sure.

Are you commenting to something in specific? or boosting your post count?

Already said I'm going after the person but wanted to know the legal classifications that this falls under so that I know what im talking about when I contacted my attorney.
