NavRatra is a composite sanskrit word made from two words Navam (9) and Ratram(nights) So it means 9 Nights.

This 9 nights are considered holy by Hindus, who keep fast and worship Goddess Durga, in these 9 nights and following days.
It is one of the biggest festival for Hindus and it is celebrated all over the world by Hindus.
