its a totatally different playing field when dealing with adult/rx sites...they are super competitive.. what is an edge to market them? any tips?
Don't under any circumstances make another TGP. Find yourself an adult webmaster forum, read a lot, but take everything with a grain of salt. TGP submissions will yeild you some traffic, most of the larger sites require you to pay for submitter accounts now though. I would suggest starting with making "free sites" if you don't know what they are find out, you can actually pick up some decent links and some traffic to start out that way. Build as many free sites a day as time allows for and submit them to link lists, optionally start a link list of your own and add your new free sites to it as well. AVS sites might be another area to look into. There's lots of other ways/areas to get adult traffic but the point of my post was to deter you from wasting your time making yet another TGP site with 0 traffic and 0 income.
u want ethical or inethical way?., For inethical way., i used to spam yahoo chat rooms, yahoo groups etc., (High conversion, not into those nowadays, felt silly ) These are the things i did during 2002 1) use yahoo chat room bots., and spam all chat rooms 2) Created yahoo chat rooms (several) and had my url in those 3) Joined around 1000 high members, unmoderated adult yahoo groups and spammed everyone with my ads 4) I had a domain xxx.vc which i used to do these., (i ranked no.1 for "Free xxx" in altavista during those days )
Get over to an adult forum like netpond.com and read. You'l find plenty of people willing to do link exchanges, there's also lots of toplists about. You can try promoting through some big sites, but these days you'll need a bit of cash to get set up.
The competition in porn is overrated. I setup an adult-oriented website for search marketing (almost by mistake) and always made excellent money. I've never had time to work on it, and I always get paid. Porn is not that hard to compete in.
Well it's hard to get noticed these days I think. I haven't tried the yahoo groups yet though... Depends upon how much marketing capitol you're willing to put into promoting it I suppose... My hits are slowly going up but I'm thinking of going legit... www.gfy.com is a thriving adult forum. There's plenty of people in there willing to tell you to "shove off".. I think the best way to get into the adult market these days is to find a single girl and promote the hell out of her. The "girl next door" approach still works wonders. Offer some free pictures on various mens forums and create some interest. Make it a bit of a mystery, give her a background story and before you know it they'll be banging on the door. Open a paysite and boom.
