Google Checkout?

I heard it was good.. some people prefered it on talkfreelance? any comments or testimonials?

Google Checkout is the best. They pay every 2 days. I been using it since it came out. made over $25k transaction. No problem with payment.

 

I dont understand how it works? Is it all Credit Card payments?

 

yes its similar to paypal, credit card payments mostly just like other credit card merchant account. They have like pay buttons like paypal and people pays u with major credit cards.

Is it valid for all countries?

 

Right now it's US only. Google stated that they are working on opening it up to more countries, but I haven't heard any ETA on when that is going to happen.

 

Google Checkout doesn't require a person to have a merchant account in order to process. Checkout is not a payment method; it accepts and processes existing payment methods, such as Visa and MasterCard.

Since the Google checkout is integrated with Adwords, chances are you will be spending more money than with another processor / IPSP (internet payment service provider). It acts like a gateway but there are subtle differences. Whereas most gateways do not charge a discount rate, Google charges a discount rate and a transaction fee. Other differences can include the limitations, restrictions and reserves applied to checkout accounts. There is also a monthly dollar limit that might be applied to merchants and merchants might process hundreds of dollars before funds are released. And Google might require a merchant to have a payout reserve before they receive any funds.

I am satisfied with Google Checkout as it is a nice alternative to Paypal. From now until January 1, 2006, Google is waiving all fees so if a customer buys something for $100 through my site I get the full $100.

I use AdWords too and in months when Google isn't extending this special offer I receive a credit against fees too.

I plan on keeping Paypal as it is more universal, but Google Checkout is a nice back up service to have on hand.

 

So they don't take a small portion of your money, I like the sound of that. Did you mean to say 2007 or is the offer over.
