Hi friends! i want to kn0ow that if we use "google" in any domain like : googlegames .com/net/org etc etc is it ilegal ? because i saw in a google help form that some "official" member replied that, we can't use "google" in our domain or we can get into trouble .. but i saw many people using google in there domain ..? please suggest ...
No you may not. It would be a clear trademark violation based on your example. The only exception would be something like GoogleSucks.com and then do it non-commercially. This is probably not the answer you are looking for, so I presume you will keep asking until some moron comes along and says it is a good idea and you are awesome for doing it.
Oh, well then, by all means go ahead and do it. I thought you were asking a legal question. yes true!!
Yes Google is a trademark and you cannot use it in domain names. You might get rich for a short span of time, but once Googles sees your domain, they can easily sue you and get hold of the domain.
You can register any domain name which is available (except some offensive words) but trust me I wouldn't go for that..
The only way you could do it is if you were using the site to sell something that has nothing to do with the company itself, Example if you were selling googlevacuums.com and you only sold vacuums then you wouldn't really have legal problems, if you opened a free email site called googlemail.com you may not get in trouble or sued right away but if you grow you could end up losinig your domain and paying legal fees or fines, It's just a good idea not to either bother risking it.
Unique and famous marks are an exception to what you described. If you registered googlevacuums, what are the chances end users won't confuse that site with Google anyway? As long as you register a domain name bearing especially a unique and famous mark to either make money off of it or ride on their traffic without their permission, you can definitely expect trouble.
