I think the first thing has to be good, original and unique content.
Then, it has to be topped up with good backlinks anchored with appropriate keywords.
Third, you need to have a decently aged domain.

in my experience and longtime internet marketing skills.. there´s never a "top marketing strategy"..whereas there are many that actually works well.. the only thing needed to get best results with them is you stick to it and discipline yourself till results come out.. if you are attempting to rank top positions on search engines through a high-competed keyword.. my personal suggestion is you focus on getting backlinks from websites with 3-8 pagerank..

and where to find them?.. this is the everlasting discussion around the net..just go to google.com and run the following search "powered by vbulletin".. this will bring you a listing of forums powered by vBulletin...they are widely used by top webmasters to place backlinks to their sites.. so you have to do so simply..of course your backlinks linking the site you want to rank will be inserted on the profile section once you create your account on each of every forum you want to sign up.. in order for you to test every forum´s pagerank.. just download an add-on for firefox that has this functionality..

Update the website on a regular base with quality posts.

At first good quality content. Articles should be 100% original, unique and copyscape free. They should be easy to read and understand. Then do proper on-page optimization and off-page optimization. Continue hard work, because it is really a very big goal (3,35,0000 globally monthly search).

 

You should first start with your website. You should optimize your web page content based on the targeted keywords selected for particular page (i.e web content optimisation).

Then go for these ON-page activities
1) Unique Title Tags for all the pages
2) Unique Meta description and Keywords for all the pages
3) Define Heading Tags
4) Define Alt Tags for images
5) Define Title tags for the links
6) Internal linking of web pages
7) Sitemap.xml file creation and submission in server
8) Robots.txt file creation
9) Keywords Cloud creation for all the pages
10) Bread Crumb implementation
11) Make URL, search engine friendly (i.e no use of special character in urls, they should be static one and should contain page related keyword in url)
