This might sound really odd, but on www.BizAmmo.com, the other day I changed two colors - lightened the gray in the left column and changed a red color scheme to blue. Nothing else changed. My clicks aren't up a whole lot in number, but the average since the change is like $.97/click now, as opposed to the $.30-.50/click average before the change. What on earth could explain that? Something as basic as color couldn't affect pay per click, could it? Or do you think maybe the blue just entices people to click more, and they just so happen to be clicking on the higher-paying ads (usually the ones within the articles do the best for me)? Either way, I'm pretty happy about it. Just curious if the color really made a difference, or if it's likely just an odd fluke. Jenn
Maybe it's an advertiser gone crazy on spending money for AdWords... come back in one month and tell us if he settled down .
I'd sy its just a coincedence but you never know. Google does some crazy things when it comes to affiliate %.
That's weird... I just posted, it said it went through, but it's not here. Oh well. Basically, to Geo88... I highly doubt that's the case. The site consists of 4 niche-specific sub-sites whose ads are generally well-targeted to them, so there's no way it's just one advertiser. The clicks are across the board, and not localized to just one of the subdomain sites.
I wouldn't count on much over the weekend, since my clicks then are usually pretty nonexistent, but I'll watch it next week.
Well, clicks were low in general this past weekend, and over Halloween, but the amount per click on Bizammo is still averaging much higher than usual. Used to be $.30-.50/click averaged there. Now it's averaging well over $1. Any thoughts on why that might be, after nothing more than a color change?
1 is a link unit i think. Ur allowed 3 ad units and 1 link unit and some referrals too... Maybe google likes blue?
Not great, and it hasn't improved with the color scheme, which is why I'm so confused about the per click rates going up dramatically w/ nothing else seeming to change. ... and thanks.
