I am Muslim and love my religion. Each person doesn't matter which faith should respect one another. There isn't a point in this thread as for everyone their religion is best whether they have one or not.
True, but here they do seem at times to hate each other. The only common denominator here on P&R is that "I am right ,therefore you must be wrong".Then when agreements happen they go to personal attacks and smear campaigns.Make the person look small and foolish and you win your argument.............all this in the name of God.I came to P&R hoping for answers from intelligent sophisticated people.Instead I found a dysfunctional circus.
And you plunged right into it unfortunately . I can understand the feeling thou . I also thought "Talking P&R with other highly intelligent webmasters , awesome !" and then i met Menj and stOx
I am sorry , but this is not a good question to start your quest. Better start with the question "What is religion ?"
The best religion is the one that every individual chooses for themselves, even if that's the belief that God doesn't exist. Whomever you speak with will naturally pick their religion as "best". That's why it's their religion. As for this generalization of religion into one-line catch phrases like "believes in a supreme being", I'd say that some of you haven't done your reading. A) Christianity is pivotal around Jesus Christ - that's the whole IDEA of the religion. Yet Christ is the embodiment of God. He refers to "His Father". Between the Father (Darth Vader) the Son (Luke Skywalker) and the Holy Spirit (the Force) there are three major elements to the Christian Godhead. B) Islam focuses on Muhammad the prophet - Allah is reference to the divine God above all, but Muhammad is not considered a "God" or THE "God" - that's Allah's job. Muhammad's job was also important because he brought people to understand Allah better. C) Judaism features a few interesting concepts that lead to the belief of a higher order of god through the holy sephiroth (not the bad guy in FF7, btw, Google it if you don't know what the sephiroth are). Judaism is also among the only religions to have SUCH a boner about LANGUAGE, which, as a writer, I think is awesome. Words in Hebrew mean different things and have many synonyms for different contexts... By evaluating parts of the Torah you can actually deduce numerical significance between related words and phrases. This is the foundation of Kabballah, aka: Jewish Mysticism. If you asshats stopped using your fingers to pick your rear ends, you'd be able to research religions independently, assimilate knowledge as you gain (like beating bosses in Megaman) and come to a well-researched deduction about what God is and where you fit in. But no. Pick your favorite and "bestest"... Wow. "And no religion, too." ~John Lennon
Hijynx how difficult is your name! lol I'm not familiar with Christianity and Judaism but guess you discribed this three religion well in brief. also I saw this picure and thought not bad to share here hope wasn't repititive.
Thanks for the picture babak44 - the screen name is weird because the "i" in "jinx" is a "y" instead but my name is a very common German name - Mueller. The descriptions I gave don't do any of the religions justice: read the religious texts from each religion and you'll understand where they differ and how they are alike. All religion serves the same basic purpose - it gives people something to believe in even if all other hope is lost. I've attached a picture for you too. Since you had a deep-thinking raptor, I figured I'd share how I felt about the situation. Ride the lightning, baby.
Its hinduism. Its the most scientific religion. It has more science in it than advices like most other religions have. Have a look at yoga for a start.
Pardon for my mistake Hijynx, shall exersise more. nice to know you. yeah right, religions have a lot of common concepts, base on Punishments and rewards and for assurance you should pay to priest.
I do know that you have the freedom of speech.you can tell what ever you feel. But if you do believe that with freedom comes responsibility , you simply shouldn't make such a statement.
And the argument ends there. You don't like it? close your eyes... I was born and raised as Hindu, and I probably know Hinduism more than you do.
As I see Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities..Then it cant be a religion..means you are not suppose to be here..
Do you have a tendency to assume weird stuffs? I'm not supposed to be here? Why? Are you scared of me?
