From the bit I've read about this, McGinniss kind of sounds like a jerk. He signed a contract with Broadway Books/Random House to write an unauthorized biography, and then immediately moved right next door to Palin. The only possible reason I can think of is to watch her family. Palin writes on her Facebook page to stay away from her children and stated: "Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?" In response he says Palin should have simply come over with a plate of cookies and had a civil discussion with him. Instead "she has pushed a button and unleashed the hounds of hell, and now they’re out there slavering and barking and growling,†McGinniss said. “That’s the same kind of tactic – and I’m not calling her a Nazi – but that’s the same kind of tactic that the Nazi troopers used in Germany in the ’30s, and I don’t think there’s any place for it in America." what, isn't it obvious to you that any woman who would not extend a friendly hand and a plate of cookies to someoene who moved in next door for the stated purpose of studying you and your family is a Nazi? Well, obviously the book is for making money and fame for the author. In this case there is probably much fire with the smoke but whether it will even distract Palin is doubtful and Palin definitely knows how to play to peoples sympathies.

The left news media outlets made her out to be perfect then made fun of her on their sitcom's, comedy (if you can call them that) shows like SNL and late night TV. So they make her look perfect and dumb all at the same time. Now we have a guy trying to convince me that she might actually be human? Smoked a little weed, had some premarital sex and liked to party... Well holy bat shit superman... What are we all gonna do...? The reason the left fails is because they exert all their energy on portraying everything in a negative light while pretending to bring about positive change. If they just spent all that time doing something positive the country might actually move forward.
AsI recall, it wasn't the left that tried to paint Palin as holier-than-thou, it was the one-time governor of Alaska who was doing that all through the campaign. She even turned her "got pregnant without being married daughter" liability into a "won't get an abortion" pseudo-asset.
