Nope. In fact, doing something like that is a great way to get proper SEO started on your new domain because the content of the page will be extremely relevant to the domain name itself.
hi, friend its a legal act,it's good for your website to have product name in domain, very useful in seo work for website. regards aishalal
You need to draw the line with a trademarked name. Any trademark owner can have your domain name confiscated at any time it if uses their trademark. I would be very careful about registering names with Apple trademarks. http://techcrunch.com/2010/01/07/apple-domain-names/ http://www.domainnews.com/en/nokia-wins-domain-name-case-covering-two-domains.html http://www.domainnews.com/en/nokia-wins-domain-name-case-covering-eight-domains.html These are not unique. There are hundreds of cases just like this.
It's legal but, if your site is say, www.disneys________.com I'm pretty sure that Disney is legally allowed to make you take down your site. So it's up to you to take the risk.
I also believe this is true. They might have to right to take it down, not sure but theres always the risk.
You can take any domain, with the name of product, service, etc. Nothing is illegal for this..its best way to target our keywords in short time.
Hes 100% right and there have been loads of cases like the ones he mentioned. Just an add up, registering is legal but you will be subject to your site being taken down which im sure no one wants. I'm surprised that many people think this to be legal...
Of couse it's absolutely legal, shouldn't it? You can use any product name in the domain unless it is somebody's trademark.
Maybe you need to take permissions from those who have registered this name as patent. This is in case of Google as per knowledge
no taking such domains are not illegal but using their name is illegal. You should mention over your site that you are not official partner of that comapany. It would be better if you beg the permission of that company whose name are you using in your domain
Basically, I believe it's legal until the legitimate owners complain. They could sue you for damages as well, but that would be tough to prove, so they would force you to hand over the domain. Then you could register one without that name, it would give you time to establish the website. Personally, I wouldn't do it...
