hi i recently submitted a website to google it isnt really a competitive keyword and I should be able to get it in the top 5 of google. However now that it has appeared in google at the bottom of the first page. Whenever I check it it would sometimes be number one but then an hour or so later it will go back to the bottom. why is that? it seems to be doing it more in the morning. Do you think it will go number one soon and stay there for longer?

Sounds like you had a lot of temporary backlinks which when disappeared, the rankings were gone too.

Keep in mind that most blog comments allow 'nofollow' links only. Nofollow links can generate traffic to your website, but do not increase its PR value. If you had mainly links from blogs, I doubt that would affect your position.
Search engines constantly crawl as much your site as the sites of the competition. The higher you are, the more work you have to do to stay there. It's not enough to gain 1st place, the struggle is to keep it.
Some search engines like google like dynamic, interesting content. Maybe in your case, every time a competing company posts an article, their website is displayed above yours as it is a new article. Soon after though, their position drop as the article is not popular or replaced with different article. Check what kind of pages rank better than you, are these blogs, forums or static websites? Are the sites always the same or different every time?

Getting to the first page of google is only a small part of the process, maintaining page 1 and staying near the top is often the hardest part because that is where the toughest competition is. If your site is new then it is likely to jump around alot and if google is updating their rankings then even an established site can jump around dramatically for a few days.

When blog commenting, try and do so on pages that have Page Rank on the actual link page and are static pages not dynamic - meaning that on static pages your comment will not get pushed off the page with the PR as more comments are added.

With Google I'd have to agree with raxe that unique fresh content is very important. Try adding some new content and then get some google +1 votes for that content - you'd be surprised how that can make a difference :)

Its called the google dance.. :)

If you have built quick backlinks, the site will jump from one position to another before settling down. If you have lot of dup content, you may lose your top positions however with unique content you will remain on top

Do you agree that this is something related to backlink? I don't think so cause even if its less competitive keyword, adding up few backlinks wont get your website rank to the 1st from the bottom NOR vanishing of some of the backlinks will affect you website that much that it directly lands to the bottom of the page from the 1st position.

There could be one possibility for this..I doubt whether you are aware of this or not..You might have starred your website. If this happens and you see the search results while being logged into Google account, you could see your website on 1st position, moment you log out of your account you get back to your original position.
