What is the best Operating System for you?? It is MACHINTOSH LEOPARD OS X? Feature: it has Objectdock and lovely backgrouds or It is WINDOWS 7? Feature: it has Aero Luminiscent Graphics. and Lovely amazing features.
windows XP is best for me, tried 7 but didn't get used to it so reverted back to xp. let's see what will 8 bring in.
FreeBSD. It runs rings around Windows and spits in its face. It's faster than Linux and can do anything Linux can do. Second choice it would be Mac OSX. It's certified Unix. 'nuff said.
Vista all the way. /end sarcasm I actually am using a pretty old build. I am in love with Mandrake before it became whatever the hell it became now with all the bloat. All I do is update the GUI interfaces like Gnome etc and it still works like a champ for me. A bit of porting doesn't hurt either, but evertyhing I deal with mostly is in Python.. so its not that tough.
My whole life is filled with WINDOWS (relating to computer experience). I still remember using WINDOWS 98, XP, Vista which is the most uncomfortable in my opinion. Right now I am using WINDOWS 7 and it is comfortable for me. I like the design, it doesn't have any performance problems and the interface isn't complicated.
I currently dual boot Win7 and Win XP. I use Win7 the most though. I also run several versions of Linux at home (on severs and PCs). They run Fedora, CentOS, and Debian. So there really isn't the "best" - just what works best for you. I find that all the ones I use are awesome for me.
I still like using win xp pro,i find it most frustrating when the OP asks these type of question but never give a verdict them selves.
I think window 7 is best because it gets drivers automaticaly. which saves time to install and work nicely with more feature.
