Who is better actor - Al Pacino or Robert de Niro?

    They are both considered 2 of greatest living actors. Who is better actor? IMHO, Pacino is slightly better actor especially considerably that de Niro has been making many poor quality movies in past decade such that de Niro's earlier successes has been overshadowed. :)

    For me it's Al Pacino. His roles in Scarface, Godfather, Heat and so many more are all classic. De Niro is cool too, but not so good as Al.

    To my opinion they are incomparable and as De Niro so as Pacino both have special features and never been rivals to each other. So there is no matter to compare their talents and it'd better to watch movies where they are together.:)

    Most of his forays into comedy like "Meet the ....." while they were box office hits weren't really reflective of his potential. There were duds like the score, 15 minutes. It is hard to name any awesome de niro movie in 21st century. He seems to want to be more prolific and focus on quantity instead of quality in his remaining years :)

    Well. they have actually really been in 2 movies together. Heat was awesome especially the pivotal scene towards end when they face off in cafe for first time ever on film- one of film's most breathtaking moments when 2 acting giants appear in same scene. Righteous Kill was quite bad. GF2 doesn't count as they both did not actually appear in same scene even though they were in same movie :)

    I'd hardly call "Meet the Parents" a dud... And box office hit or not, they showcased a completely different side of De Niro IMO.

    Al Pacino is between these two. Really there should be any body else then Niro. Niro is like nothing infront of A.Pacino .That really counts at this point of time
