Rebecca, I have lots of experience putting together resumes. It sounds like you are happy with yours, but if you want some additional advice, PM me.

I'm a big believer in "hire the attitude, teach the skills". Employers like to hire people that they would enjoy seeing when they come to work very day.

The best thing I have seen over the years are resume's that are comprised of no more than ONE page and have no more than 3 previous jobs listed. An objective, experience, education and some personal info, like married/single kids, like to ski, whatever...

Too many jobs tells me you don't like to stick around in one place.
Too much education or listing tons of bs like awards, associations, makes it look more like an ego massage than a recipe for employment.

Simple and too the point is always best.

Not so much about gaining more votes, but a nation of struggling workers and well-to-do freeloaders leads to lower expectations on government performance.

That's a nice offer, I appreciate it. I think I'm good for now. I don't want to look for another job for a long time, I'm really happy at my new job. It seems to be a perfect fit for me. I still like it, and I've been working a lot (about 6 days a week). The only thing new I'm planning is to start a small business in the next few months. I like making molds, and my business will be mainly selling molds (for clay). I'm not a good webmaster, so I don't even know if I'll have a main website of my own to sell them. Online, I'll probably just sell on Etsy and Amazon, but I'm not really officially starting all this until towards the end of the year. I may PM you with my business questions (If I have any). :)

Anyway, not meaning to hijack this thread with personal stuff. Have a good one.

    Thanks for the tips, Jeremy.

On a side note, I just thought this was kind of interesting....

Here is a video on the Alex Jones YouTube channel. They say in the notes of the video, "...Pictures taken during a commercial break in last night's GOP debate at the Reagan Presidential Library document how Texas Governor Rick Perry attempted to physically intimidate Congressman Ron Paul, prompting Paul's security to intervene..."

It's funny because Ron Paul is laughing at the story where the media is saying that. He doesn't even remember, here's Ron Paul talking about it...

The House thought better of holding the FAA, their employes and sub contractors hostage for a second round of political contention with the Democratic Senate....till January and March anyway.

Credit the Administration for another round of successful negotiations and functioning Government.

When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. — Benjamin Franklin

The general (federal) government will tend to monarchy, which will fortify itself from day to day, instead of working its own cures. — Thomas Jefferson

To my mind, this is a violation of the Hatch Act of 1939. The lefties are using taxpayer funds for the purpose of getting themselves re-elected so that they can steal more taxpayer funds. That process can't continue indefinitely.

Its unquestionably a violation of law, yet the Obama DOJ dropped the charges against these guys, despite the fact they had an open and shut case:

I guess having the press in the tank is not good enough. The man needs to use taxpayer dollars to "get the message out"(Isn't he always bemoaning the idea that Americans don't like Obama-care because he didn't explain properly?)

"The press must grow day in and day out — it is our Party's sharpest and most powerful weapon" - Joseph Stalin

Rebecca, what's your point about Ron Paul? Slime ball Perry is as corrupt as they get. Classy to see him parading around as the devout conservative when he used to be Al Gore's campaign chairman for Texas.

Ron Paul is the most honest politician alive and the last chance the US (and maybe the world) will have for a long, long time.

Love him or hate him, he truly just wants the constitution restored. He is the closest to the man on the street who wants to live in peace and keep what he earns. The world hasn't been graced with such a man for centuries.

No one can debate this man so the media ignores him and pretends he doesn't exist when he's one of the most supported contenders.

God bless RP and his bravery!

Republic! Republic! Woe unto the lost.

Yet he makes the most sense as of now..

I used to think that Paul was a lunatic with all his predictions.. But lately, as I got to hear him, I'm pretty impressed by his policies.

You're joking, right? A doctor with battle experience, a politician with decades of experience and a student of economics and constitutional law, RP is the most fitting and well suited presidential candidate the US has seen for a long time.

Bush, a puppet and a moron; Obama, an inexperienced politician and wall street insider; I like a lot of what you have to say, but mate you're not doing yourself any favours today.

I'm not a big RP fan, but he is in my personal top 4, so if he gets the nomination, I'll definitely vote for him. He has started to temper his "End the Fed", and "End overseas engagements", and "End the FAA", and "End the minimum wage" talk with a bit of "It would have to be phased out of course". Trying to take our spending addicted government instantaneously off of it's drug supply would be like asking a heroine addict to quit cold turkey, no methadone. It might just kill the patient.

It was just an example of where the media can portray a false perception as truth, which I think, is what Alex Jones frequently does. However, you don't have to defend Ron Paul based on my post. Overall, I like him. Where I stand right now is that I would be highly unlikely to vote for a Republican candidate in 2012, with the exception of Ron Paul. If we were voting today, and I HAD to choose between Perry or Obama, I would actually vote for Obama. Though, if the GOP doesn't nominate Paul, most likely, I will not bother to vote at all, Republican or Democrat.

Well, at least there are a few still left in Washington who are truly concerned for working Americans.
    ..............

Interesting the R candidates have so little regard for the immediate issue of employment.

Ron P will undoubtedly have a "Constitutional" problem with the Legislation for reasons to vote against the legislation as all legislation passing his way he fails to vote for....needs not withstanding.

Big mistake I'd say.. Perry may be like yet another greedy republican, but at least that guy got some clues.. Texas is in better shape than many other states..

Obama, Jeez.. I won't let him handle my 6 year old car, let alone the whole country.

Ha, I was just coming back to edit my post. :) What I wanted to change is that my post wasn't intended as a specific dig towards Perry. You can replace his name with any of the other generic Republican candidates, excluding Ron Paul.

RP is unmatched. You have me converted.. lol

On the sideline - I'd rather see Hillary becoming the president than Obama... If she got a chance.

PS: Whoever left me this rep for this post-

I love ya mate, but even all your hate combined couldn't turn your rep from ugly grey to shiny red.
    And yeah, Obama sucks. :p

Its at a point right now where practically anyone looks like a better alternative to Obama. I'd rather not dump the country into the hands of another rookie like Bachman, Palin, Cain, or Santorum but I'd say Bachman is every bit as up to the job is Obama, and Palin has him beat hands down. So, bring on President Gingrich, President Perry, President Romney, or President Paul. If we have to, bring on President Cain, or even President Bachman or Santorum. The media is already calling it a two way race between Perry and Romney before a single vote has been cast, but I would not at all be surprised to see Paul's numbers shoot through the roof this year.

If you didn't notice, I left out Huntsman. Putting Huntsman in office seems to me like replacing Obama with his long lost brother.
