Just got this today, was really a big fan of MB. What other affiliates allow MySpace now?

I'm guessing many affiliates won't read the E-Mail. The title is: Our position on MySpace advertising

so some people might think it's SPAM, as the From doesn't say MaxBounty but has his name. I would of deleted it myself if I hadn't of read this thread 30 seconds before cheking E-mail.

Yeah except all of maxbounty's e-mails are also held on their site, and kind of hard to miss since it is on your login screen.

Most reputable companies have stopped allowing MySpace advertising.

Read that email, it doesn't affect me though I never advertise my compaigns through myspace.

Yea and I have to agree about the email title, looks like spam in away.

Hi all. This is a similar post I made on another board, but I want to just follow up with everyone to say that this wasn't a decision we made lightly. We originally allowed people to post ads in their own MySpace profiles which didn't seem unreasonable to us, but it was unfortunately abused by affiliates. For every 'good' affiliate, it grew to where a dozen others where caught spamming and phishing.

If you visit MySpace, you'll see they recently solidified their terms and it specifically says that accounts 'may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors'. A few people on various boards posted ideas to get around MySpace's no commercial activity policy. Can you do these things? Well you shouldn't, and if you do you'll most likely get caught and be booted from your CPA network of choice. They were just bought by a company with DEEP pockets. I wouldn't be surprised if MySpace decides to make a very visible example of someone and sues big, so you take a fair risk by contravening their terms.

That said, let's take a step back and look at what you're doing when you earn big through MySpace. To earn lots of ad revenue, you need many MySpace accounts with lots of friends... sending ads to these people is essentially spam (do you really have 10,000 friends?), plus this is beyond the fact that you're doing something against their terms. If you don't have these multiple MySpace accounts yourself, but instead buy accounts from others, it's almost certain you're supporting phishers and you're guaranteed to be supporting MySpace spammers. What do YOU think of spammers and phishers? I like to believe most of you wouldn't give the time of day to a spammer, and would probably love to spit on a phisher. If you don't like and don't support spammers and phishers for email, you shouldn't for MySpace either.

So we've adopoted a policy that no MaxBounty advertising is allowed via MySpace.

Dealing with myspace to many people get sucked into the greed aspect of it. As people here of people making "easy" money so in turn they may lower their moral standards just to make a quickbuck... sometimes that buck isnt a small one but at what price are you really paying.... As Spam is spam no matter how you look at it weather it is email or myspace. I am not going to lie i tried it but once i came to my senses and realized it a spam i stopped. Some people will always go after the almighty dollar at any cost but those that do it with integrity will be around longer and not have to worry about giving most of their money to lawyers.
