Gay Cowboys

The text from Willie Nelson song which talks about gay cowboys. This text may be explains the phenomena of so many tough talking politicians from Texas like Bush who like the big hat and boots but afraid to death to actually fight (avoidance in Vietnam war).
It seems a lot of cowboys have this femininen voice inside them and that is the reason they talk tough but in the heart are just a sissy who need protection from everything. It seems many people need special clothes and act tough in order to hide their fears, what do you think?

 

I had a "Brokeback Mountain" moment when I read your thread.The genesis of your thread is obvious and quite clever I must say.I am greatly looking forward to Rob Jones's response.I think as pure entertainment this thread will likely go down in the "DP Hall of Fame".

 

I thought of brokeback 1st too but then went to - Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys? - it sings to the same tune but I haven't heard those verses.

 

I think Willie Nelson had a great insight in to typical Texas politician. They wear their big hats and boots and talk tough but most of them are corrupt to the core and they do everything not to serve in wars since they are too much of a sissy. Bush was a typical of such politicians.
I have nothing against gays, there are many of them who have served their country in the wars with bravery. I think this is more gay cowboy phenomena.

 

I get it, I think - "every gay isn't necessarily a cowboy but every cowboy is necessarily gay".

 

not all cowboys, only politicans who talk tough but are too sissy to stand up and fight and can only hide and cry. Like Willie said:

@Bushranger: Use of the word gay in the pejorative? Or was your chiming in here more of an IsraeI style thing, "You are all Muslim/gay like me", "Gays are taking over" type motif, meant to play on and bread homophobia?

I used to joke about that self loathing was a prerequisite to being a liberal, but then I built a cadre of liberal friends and discovered it was just a stereotype. Good job reinforcing the stereotype.

I'm not sure Bush claims to be a Cowboy but probably is one by honorary - I believe he does refer to himself though as a "Red-Neck"....
