I just read something in another thread that mentioned something about PR affecting how much you get payed per click. That's not true, right?
well technically it doesn't effect...but it can affect... As we all know that if a site is good...then advertisers bid on your site...which results in increase in CPC! So when any advertiser sees your site, and thinks of putting their google adword ads...they he may try to do some research on your site before bidding on it...And this may include, your PR (and my be your Alexa Rankings too)...it all depends on the advertiser...how he does his analysis!
But if you wanted to get stereotypical you COULD argue that generally sites with better PR are actually better quality sites. Far from the rule of course - but as a general rule would probably hold. With that noted I wouldn't be surprised if Google had a number of miscellaneous factors, including PR, influencing CPC, I mean it would probably make sense to use PR in their smart pricing efforts. of course it wouldn't be a major factor - but who knows what miscellaneous things Google slips into their algo. In short: Is PR used in calculating CPC - "there's an outside chance they do". Is this influence significant - No, not really.
I don't think so. I don't think it has any bearing on CPC at all. However, I can't say I am 100% sure, though.
