Ok I just registered a new domain at namecheap today however im not hosting my site there im hosting it at bravehost. so bravehost say to activate my new domain with them I need to change my domain name servers to ns1.bravehost.com and ns2.bravehost.com.

I went into my namecheap account clicked domain name server setup on the left specified custom and inputted those. Is that all I have to do? It seems right but nothing is happening or is it because you have to wait a couple of days to see anything?

It sounds like you did it right. I don't use Namecheap - but GoDaddy. When you do this in GoDaddy it can take 24 to 48 hours for the Nameservers to change.

You should be good to go. If anything, you could call customer service at Namecheap and I am sure they would check to make sure it was done correctly.

    Good Luck.

I use both. But has godaddy for most of my domains. If possible, I may buy from namecheap and have it transferred to my godaddy account so that I only need to manage one site.

Yes. DNS propagation isn't necessarily instant inspite of tech advances, which is why registrars nowadays said to
allow at least maybe 5 minutes up to 24 hours average.

As long as the domain's pointing to the intended nameservers, that's minimally good because the registrar at least
did what you want the domain to eventually do. If it still doesn't show the desired web site or whatever, you can
also clear your browser's cache or memory or use a proxy site to see if it's finally resolving in another location.
