Why isn't "Politics and Religion" forum being monitored?

    It's like the wild west there,anything goes.Horrible swearing,hate,racism,homophobia...it's all allowed.It's gone too far,it's disgusting.I am trying to get them all to stop and have posted my views on this.So far it's been well received and no one has attacked me for it.The forum is 95% male because females are afraid if they go on they will be disrespected.Mods I know you are busy,but please show your presence,it will help to get things back to a state of civility.
    On the positive side(there's always a positive if you look hard enough)all the angry haters are all on P+R so at least they stay off of "General Chat".:)

    Use the Report Post function if you see something that violates our rules.

    As far as being *actively* monitored, not something we are going to do since the whole point of giving Politics/Religion it's own section was simply to get all that garbage out of General Chat so people only have to read it if they WANT to.

    Thanks for the timely response.Yes,it is really down to a choice,I or anyone for that matter doesn't have to read or post on P+R if we don't choose to.And quite right it is a magnet for that kind of stuff and the members of P+R do stay off of GC.
    I'll just try and remind the members on P+R that they are "mature" adults not children and ought to act accordingly......Wish me luck with that one ha*ha!

    You've made the classic mistake of thinking P&R is about discussion when more often than not it's about indoctrination.

    I venture forth occasionally to have some fun but on the whole it is incredibly repetitive and few want a real debate.

    The IT industry has always been dominated by males, it has nothing to do with females not wanting to voice their opinions. You do realize this is a webmaster forum with a P+R sub-forum?

    @Spoiltdiva I knew you would reply with an insecure comment like that. I was simply stating the facts, don't be so sensitive. The primary purpose for coming to DP should be to learn/contribute IM knowledge, not to come and chat about P+R and other nonsense. Thats why this place has become a joke.

    Unless its just that we have real people in our lives to debate with and these guys don't!

    The IT industry isn't really dominated by males anymore - 20 years ago when I started out it was but not anymore. It is, however, dominated by those with Aspergers tendencies who therefore lack some of the social graces that others might find more natural. Add to that topics about which you feel passionate, cultural differences and the lack of personal contact and you have... P&R!

    I can definitely see where you are coming from, I can see the shift of more females entering the online space. IMO I just think its because many people see the internet as a viable way to make money online nowadays, and you don't necessarily need technical skills to achieve success. Interesting what you said about Aspergers tendencies, were you being serious? I've been told I am Aspergers ... my nephew was diagnosed as Aspergers so maybe its in the genes lol.

    I take that as a compliment. Primites have wild sex. Considering you come here to chat about P+R and not about IM, I would question your intelligence, but lets not get into a fist fight.

    Hell, yes. Look around any large IT office. Its what you need to be able to do what techies do.Those who aren't are probably in HR or management. And its not necessarily a bad thing... Bill Gates is the Aspergers poster boy.

    P & R is a forum I normally post at, but difficult to moderate, if you are really into moderating I think half the posters can be banned. A Wild Wild West I think. For those who can't take it, better don't enter.

    Honestly I'm on here for a stress reliever.I come on DP 4 or 5 times a day,maybe for 10 or 15 minutes a pop.Honestly here for the fun of it,no hidden agenda.I'm at a point where I no longer have to make income,don't have to work anymore if I don't want to.So will be spending more time here.Really do like it and want to make it a better place.Just focusing on GC,P+R and that's about it.
    Don't worry hon about any red flags,I'm straight up.:)

    P&R is okay.. Yeah, some people are less mature than others.. But over all it is an interesting place to be..

    But if you can not take virtual insults and let go, then should stay away from it.
    I stay cool most of the time, I use sarcasm instead of hate, but even I felt like losing cool few days back against a certain issue.

    Speaking of which, some typical specific P&R elements can be found even in this thread as well. :D
