I need help with how to set up a part of a site where my client can log on and edit text and photos on the site without knowing coding. Ive seen this done before but I dont even know where to start to set mine up...
Ive been Googling for ages trying to learn it on my own lol. I was looking into CMS and they looked promising and what i wanted to do but most looked like you had to use their templates? But i already have my site designed...

Im willing to recode my site but i cant use a template since the customer already likes the site as it is.

Also it would be nice to have a free option!!

Any point in the right direction is greatly appreciated!!!

    thanks :D

I think that you may be looking for something like CushyCMS

    http://www.cushycms.com/

I am not too familiar with how it works, but it seems to be exactly what you are looking for. There are services almost identical to CushyCMS as well, I just am not remembering their names at this moment.

I use WordPress, and give my clients a limited user account. They can edit posts, but can't create new ones, or change WP settings etc.

Yes, but he requested something more like what I had posted, as his website is already designed and does not want the hassle of turning it into a theme for a CMS. Otherwise, I also use WP.

:D I guess the complexity of the design will determine whether it's worth recoding or not.

Oh, it would appear that I missed that chunk. My apologies. In that case, I too would suggest WordPress.

If you want to change the function of the site without changing the look (which is what it sounds like what you want to do), you'll just have to code the changes by hand. There's no way to download some custom script you can just drop into an existing site.
