jake - this is relevant you will at one point get legal issues but hotfile was hosted in the US and therefore under US law, so fortunetly filesonic is hosted in .nl mainly with a .us FTP afaik

I said 6 months ago that this would happen - seem to remember being called 'alarmist' at the time lol - well here we are.
Many people are moving operations away from the USA - even using .com domains is now becoming notably risky.

Whilst it might be more difficult to 'get' companies in Russia, it is not impossible, and of course such companies will not be able to operate anyway if they are blocked by isp's, so there's more than one way to skin a cat (just an expression - I don't skin cats !). Also think about this ... even if your fav file host doesn't give your details out, paypal sure as hell will. Paypal are well known for folding like a deckchair at the slightest hint of trouble - they are loyal to one thing and one thing only - themselves.

All this aside, I'm actually more worried at the moment about the skimming.

 

luckily I earn fuck all compared to many people I know and i'm rank 1100 ish on FSo so... don't care too much I barely upload all y earnings are from referals...

It's a good way to go for sure.
Personally I'm working on becoming totally legal - not so easy or course but it can be done and I'm determined to do it. Hopefully I won't need to worry about copyright in future, but of course that won't help if the hosts get mass blocked as seems to be the current plan in the UK (and how long before it's happening in the US ?).
I'm sure glad I never worked with hotfile though lol
