Faith - Because the bullets are real. Your god is not.

The Bible says:

"A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." and "he who does not use his endeavors to heal himself is brother to him who commits suicide."

The truth is the God who gave us healing materials and the God who gave us the tools to make glass is the God who gave us wisdom to use both. God does not promote laziness and stupidity. He wants us to use our brain and get also not be lazy.

 

So where is the plan? If you get cancer i assume it's because god gave it to you, he is in control of everything, right? so 1) why try to cure it? and 2) what not pray for it to be cured instead of seeking medical attention?

You seem to just be making excuses for the glaring fact that you live your life as though god doesn't exist and prayer is ineffective.

 

You seem to have a whole bunch of really bad assumptions here.

1) Death is a bad thing for Christians.

-- Death is a very good thing for followers of God. Paul the Apostle said: "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." He basically says in that passage, "I wish I could die and be with God, but I would rather live for now seeing that I bring benefit to His people."

2) Bad things don't happen to good people.

-- What makes you think that God's duty is to shield His people from all harm because they follow Him. The truth is God gives us the gift of hard times (which teach us lessons such as humility) and good times (which bring us to thank the Lord for His blessings).

3) Somehow God and medicine are opposites in your mind.

-- Actually God gave us medicine and the ability and ingredients to create it. He has done this for our good. Sometimes God's blessing and healing is sitting in that little while bottle on the table. He blessed you with the money to buy it, the scientists who created it and the government who tested it. Shame on the person who does not regard God after all that.

4) God does not heal people

-- With my own eyes I have seen God heal people who were given weeks to live. This is not uncommon among true (not cultural) Christians. I have a website with more than 100 testimonies of healing on it. God is always moving with us who are on the site as well.

Obviously when making statements such as "You seem to just be making excuses for the glaring fact that you live your life as though god doesn't exist and prayer is ineffective," you show that you have no openness to use your mind and thing and listen to ideas. You have a preconceived notion about the subject.

Alright, take this as a scenario..

God planned for you to die of a nasty disease. But when you started to get sick, you went to hospital and got cured.. You challenged God!!

How can you challenge god like that? So next time when you get sick, start praying, don't go to hospital else you will rot in hell.

What's stopping you mate? Jump off a building and be with the God. If thats a good thing, you should do it.

Bad time and good time happen to me as well, I don't believe in God, I don't follow him, but I have a pretty decent life..
While on other hand, my neighbor Rabbit is an ace follower of the God, but he struggles to meet the end needs, his kids think that he is a loser, his wife ditched him and ran away with next door neighbor.

It doesn't seem there is any incentive to follow God.

God gave you medicines? Great, why doesn't God give us medicine to cure HIV or Cancer or Muscular dystrophy or Multiple sclerosis or hundred's of different incurable diseases?
Also, why god was so freaking late in giving us medicines for something as simple as a flu? He left us to die in vein for a good part of human history? Did the human 100 years ago not deserve medicines?

Now if God heals people, then the heck you need medicine anyway? All you need is to submit to God when you are sick and tada, magic happens!!
And why my friend Doofusmirtz died of cholera, when he was praying 24X7. I told him to go and see the doctor, but he was convinced that God will heal him.

Open your mind, and ask why does God allow his followers to be raped or killed by someone? Where was god when a 6 year old kid was being raped by a priest? Certainly a 6 year old kid is not full of sins.

I will never allow my sons and daughters to be raped or killed if it was in my capacity.

It seems that God is not almighty, all powerful, merciful, caring but a pathetic, sadist, merciless, incapable father who watches his sons and daughters to get raped and killed and do nothing to protect them.

 

So why wear seat-belts, vaccinate your children or have bulletproof glass installed on the popemobile? Like i keep pointing out, you live your life in the exact way we would expect if you didn't actually believe your claims.

Why would i assume that? I don;'believe in any guiding force that oversees everything or, like you do, a force that controls everything. It's you who has to wrestle with the question of why bad things happen to good people, not me. I believe in statistical probability and chance, you believe in a god that gives AIDS to babies.

Because the bible said anything is possible for those with enough faith, even the ability to move a mountain. So either you lack faith and are simply repeating empty rhetoric, or the bible is wrong.

If god existed, as the bible describes him, medecine would be redundant.

I know. But the bible disagrees.

Openness means being open to the truth, not open to accepting any old shit. I fear your mind may have been so open that your brain fell out.

 

Because, deep inside they know, but they have to believe in something because they are too weak to face adversities that life provides. It's a help for them. But they know god is not going to do anything because they know there is nothing. So they take precautions like non believers. That's all, no biggie...
Leave them alone. If that helps them, so let it be...

 

I can't wait to see your humility when your little 4 y/o girl will be raped several times, beaten, strangled, beheaded and burnt (for the evidence). After all it will be a gift of god, allelujia. And don't forget to say "I forgive you" to the rapist/murderer who has free food, free clothes, free shelter for a while (paid by your tax dollars, so you better keep working for him)...until he gets out and rape again...Oh god, I love your gifts...

 

You can't win an argument when you can't prove your facts. The bible is a fictional book, not historical. Your religion is doomed to an instinction, about 90% of your followers are pony's, the "go along gangs".

I've not met a "Christ like", all are loony's and hypocrites, scam artist, child molesters, killers, fraudsters, cheaters.

If that is what you believe, fine, why not leave Earth to us. LEAVE, go to your god and serve "him" there.
