1. search for a name 2. check if this or these domain names are free 3. register thru godaddy or namecheap or netfirms or another company 4. lock your domains security via cpanel on your domain name company
What domeinai said, only don't use Godaddy, they can show you "who's your daddy" (block your domain, suspend it without notification at the first abuse report, even if it's not justified). use Namecheap - it never failed me...
It is fairly straight forward. Since Godaddy.com is cheap, I recommend you head there. Search, select, pay and you are done. For more details see this video. It teaches you exactly how to do this.
Yup. Pretty much covered it perfectly. Networks Solutions have nice interface to check domain availability too. OR try Domaintools
I'm not sure whether the OP is asking a general "how do I purchase a domain name?" question or if the real question is, how would I go about purchasing a domain name that I want but that is already owned by someone else? If the latter is the question, you need to do a WHOIS search on the domain name to find out the ownership, attempt to make contact (either directly or through a broker), and be ready to offer a fair and reasonable price for the name.
use whois.is to check is your domain available or not If available then you may get your domain from any hosting provider which is reliable Make sure register your domain name with or any reseller that able to trust or not you may get cheat by selling you more expensive while they have taken to resell you again. After purchase your domain , you may purchase DNS which is domain name system that allow you to managed domain point to the which hosting. You can add on to purchase whois ID protection so people will not see your private information from whois.is and spam your mailbox.
