Ok, I used to make such 'arguments' without a point just to tease the opposer. But that doesn't neccesarily gives the effect I want.

For instance, usually a conspiracy theorist is someone that can't explain the official version with the knowledge (s)he has.

What the invidual needs to switch to believe in the official version is not a kick-ass-insult, but rather a kick-ass-answer that will explain the question the CT ask.

What happens when you hand out the kick-ass-insult is that you may hurt the CTs feelings, may the CT think that you are a part of the enormous conspiracy, but it's very unlikely that you changes ones worldview in the way you want. The CT may become afraid and keep it's thoughts for h(im || er)self and may keep feeling afraid for the conspiracy for the rest of (his || her) life AKA lifetime-paranoia.

Thats the real danger in all this stuff!

Conspiracy theorists want to believe that the government is all powerful, in control of everything, and concocted the whole thing, rather than believe the inconvenient truth that a ragtag bunch of muslim fundamentalists crashed planes into buildings.

Muslims argue they only fight defensively, like that Israel "took their land", and that America supports israel, so we must be satan. They don't, however, talk about the Muslim insurgency in Thailand that killed 2,000, and the Muslim general in Thailand who threw a coup and is "negotiating" with the terrorists. And they don't talk about the Muslim insurgency in the Sinkiang part of China. Or the Muslim insurgency in Casamance, Africa. Or the Muslim genociding of innocents in Darfur.

Muslims are the AGGRESSORS of 14/21 of the current world conflicts, assuming Iraq is a defensive war for muslims. (hah, I'm being nice). Muslims are attacking ALL non-muslims as the Qu'ran commands. Killing buddhists in Thailand, athiests in China, africans in Sudan, catholics/athiests in France, where rioting has started back up and there are "no-go" zones where police don't enter, essentially muslim controlled parts of France. They have attacked Britain, and Spain, and terrorist groups massacre christians in Indonesia.

If they are capable of all that, what makes you think they are not capable of hijacking a plane with box cutters on unprepared passengers who just thought they were gonna get a ransom and let them live.

On a second note, the government DID know an attack MIGHT come, but this is not a typical war, you can't declare war on a country and attack them in pre-emption, they wear no uniform. You can't guard EVERY city's buildings. The only FEASIBLE city to attack might be Mecca and Medina, because atleast then they'd show up and fight.

There was no way to stop the attack without knowing EXACTLY where and when. On another note, Clinton put up a wall between the CIA and FBI, cut intelligence spending to zilch, etc. We were shooting in the dark. Even now, our intelligence community is not as advanced as it was in the 70's even.

 

I have seen that movie a few months ago. It doesn't neccesarily means that the plane was shot down by terrorist or the millitary, it could be that he simply misspoke himself(and the history tells us that we should neither trust Bush or Rumsfelds abillity to speak perfect ). So I think it's simply just a mistake.
