It needs some umph - graphics, colors, logos, etc. Layout is simple and clean which is nice. Maybe a tab on how to use backlinks?

I suggest, organize the backlinks into categories. Right now they are all cluttered on the home page. Besides, I failed to understand how someone would benefit by adding to your website, when all the links have the same link text i.e. "read more here". You might want to reconsider this and provide them with an option of getting keyword rich links.
The site looks clean and it's a good resource, but any first-time visitor will not know what to do or where to go and this can drive people away. I think placing a link on "how it works" will help a great deal. Also, adding some clean graphics will do the trick. Keep it up.
