website - strange case

Hi,

There is strange case, the website is in top 3 for keyword in Google search. Google Adword Keyword tool shows a lot of search for around 30,400,000 monthly searches. But, there is no traffic to website?

The domain is around 2 months old. I checked website position from many locations, it is in top 3-5(in some countries it is in top 3 and somewhere in top 5).

Again;

I have 2 word domain which is the keyword.

1) I search keyword in Google Adword Keyword tool and it shows around 30,400,000 monthly searches.

2) I search keyword in Google and it shows website on 3-5th position.

3) I check traffic by Google analytics

What can be problem? Any advise?

Do some test searches and visit your own link. Check analytics is picking it up. 30 millions searches, you should be getting a few. Maybe check the exact match.

 

This is my last 5 day record(from analytics ).

Day1 - 1 Visit
Day2 - 0 Visit
Day3 - 1 Visit
Day4 - 1 Visit
Day5 - 3 Visit

I have adsense on website too. I can see similar record( by Page views).

Please help.

 

You are right, work always needed. But a website with keywords of 30,400,000 searches should have few hundreds of visits but I am getting getting one digit traffic!!

 

That's probably a dumb question, but you sure you don't have personalized search enabled? Because this way the site will rank high only for you and not for other users.

 

Are those 30m exact searches?

Is this a seasonal keyword for which traffic might have dropped?

 

No, keyword has nothing to do with season. I use to check Adword tool, it always shows search count as 30m.

What do u mean by exact searches? I do not use quotation either in Google search engine nor Adword Keyword tool

 

I have dynamic IP addresses, and I have private proxies of US too. I have 2 VPS and every where it show website 3-5th position.

 

what is the keyword?whats the exact search for that keyword?

 

You can try appending &pws=0 in the Google search url and see if the ranking is the same.

 

how many impressions does it say you get in webmaster tools?

 

I think you should be cached on your computer. google will give your website from top search result if you get to that site frequently. You can try from another computer and check the search result again.

 

As I said, I tried using many proxies and from different locations too.

 

The might be a few reasons for that:

1. You use the broad match and not the exact match.
2. You use your own browser to check the rankings. Use rank checker for that - it's free

 

Its a false alarm from the sites you check ranking, even if google webmaster shows your keyword rank top 5. Still you don't get traffic, i don't know the reason but this is the bitter truth... I guess only google can answer accurately.

 

He's confused broad search with exact search.

The keyword he's trying to rank for has only double figure exact searches globally.

 

i have the same case. i targeted a keyword having search volume of 2m and with that keyword i m on the first page of the google. But only getting 3 to 4 clicks per day with that keyword.

 

just checkout your site's pagerank, once on a new laptop and withour login official mail. Close all browsers and open a single websites with any kind of login etc.

Actually i am unable to understand your question clearly, if a keyword has the 6 to 9 digit competition and your website is ranking in top 3 its mean you will get a good amount of traffic. So if you want to know the exact solution of your problem let me know your keyword with respective url.

Yeah exactly.
30m are searches for your keywords + something else

See Match Type to the left and change Broad with [Exact]. And then it says there are almost no exact searches.
