Pretty wild time lapse video of a girl's transformation into a cover girl. http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com/ I don't know what's more disturbing - the reality of their message or that I'll never be that good at PhotoShop
absolutely. I'd like to slow it down and see what they are doing though! why? do you need a neck and eye adjustment
And people wonder why women put such an emphasis on being beautiful. Could it be that society forces these unrealistic perceptions of beauty on us? Oh wow, what a concept. It was a crazy video, though. Even with all of my research over the years on this very topic, I hadn't seen an actual video.
Dove is really going all out with this idea. It's obviously a marketing ploy, but I'm happy to see it regardless.
And in turn males come to expect (in a sense) such perfection. not fair to all the ladies! Y, I thought the video was pretty trippy, especially with the music/score
I think there might actually be a job as a freelance jailhouse makeup artist on call for celebrity arrests. Somehow I doubt the cops would let you Photoshop the end results for the archives though. -Michael
it takes me 20 minutes to get rid of a shadow on an item i take a picture of. they made that chick hot in like 10 seconds. i suck at photoshop I still like this one a lot better: http://demo.fb.se/e/girlpower/retouch/retouch/index.html
20 mins = suck! I would have never thought to elongate the neck! I need to try some of this and see how horrible it looks you're right on the demo - more interactive and stuff so it's better in a lot of ways but I still dig this video on many levels.
I think the distorted views of beauty in our society are dictated by the weird choices designers and photographers are making. Have you heard of the scandals in Europe over models that are too thin? Hopefully this message will circulate and people will see tech beauty for what it is: fake, fake, fake.
who is that? I'll tell you who needs a PS artist on call...Nick Nolte indeed. I could never in 1.1K yrs pull something like that off!
Wow, this is a great thread. The movie and the Flash demo are outstanding. The mug shot and glamor photo of Yasmine Bleeth is also fantastic. I hope people are sharing these with young women (and men) they know.
no way!! that is mind boggling... of course if I ever get served it won't be on a "good hair day" I'm sure
Perhaps the hint here is to not be caught doing naughty things at all. Of course, the geniuses who change the models need to somehow brand their work. I think it would do much for society if every altered photo have a small mark indicating who did it. Of course, we can't get people to mark GMO produce either.
My first reaction on seeing that Dove video was, that makeup artist was fantastic. That was a pretty significant part of the transformation, and they could have just stopped there, after the hair and makeup was done. I've already heard it said that not even the top models look as good as their pictures in the magazines, but this really brings it home. The photoshop was impressive, but to my mind those steps made the model look just a bit too fake and Barbiedoll.
