congratulations! you have succeeded where i have failed miserable, its good the girl let you done, smoking is a crazy habit, i have tried to kick it without success, now that you are doing well get yourself another girl and never look back! failure is when you want to please others.
It's easy to quit, anyone can do that. It's much harder to stay quit.Don't backslide, see the thing through. You need to be the master instead of the slave.Free yourself of this addiction once and for all.......do not surrender!
Congratuations to everyone in here who said they quit. I never started smoking on a regular basis so it never got a grip on me. Unfortunately I come from a house where my parents both smoked heavily my whole life. My mom was diagnosed with emphysema and is on oxygen now full time due to the years of abuse on her lungs. This limits her quality of life a ton as you can imagine. She has a hard time catching her breath, even talking on the phone with her grandchildren is a chore. It could have been worse I suppose there are worse things for her to live for. The sad thing is once she went to the Dr. for the complications she was having, she got so scared that she and my dad quit THAT day and have never had another cigarette. I just wish they had been able to do that on their own years earlier. Stay the course. It doesn't seem like a big deal now, but the damage you will do in the years to come can be devastating.
vwonder11, Congratulations to you. Lots of girls out there for you to hook up with, but why not just enjoy the single life for a while with no need to put up with relationship pressures. As far as smoking goes - i just enjoy it and do not feel the need to give up. But i am sick and tired of do gooder government idiots taxing the hell out of cigarettes. 68stangman.
@68stangman The reason governments apply taxes to cigarettes is to help pay for the burden and expense that smokers with their smoke related illnesses put on the health care system. The taxes are also used by governments to help pay for advertising used to warn young people about the dangers of smoking. It's money well spent.
I don't smoke but i know the feelings when you stopped smoking immediately base on what i have observed here in our place. You suppose to do it gradually, but since you did and definitely you succeeded, i"m really happy for you.
It's good to know you stopped smoking. Some people do opposite in this situation and make their life worst.
Good for you, friend. Quitting never comes easy to most people. Takes a great deal of discipline and determination.
